Couple things here:

1. Make sure your marking your blood found with some toilet paper or something.
2. Like Hicks said, ask a neighbor. People may live in Florida for all yo know.
3. You tried to contact people... I'd go after the deer. Most people would understand that you're just tracking.
4. Sounds like you may not have given that deer enough time to expire if you already pushed it 400 yards. But that is water under the bridge.
5. If looking today proves unsuccessful, maybe a tracking dog? Problem is the dog owner will for sure want permission to be on private land.

I marked every spot of blood with toilet paper. I only gave the deer about 20 minutes because I though I heard him crash. But that's my thought too. I did try and contact but with no response. I think I may try the neighbor and if no luck I think I'm going to try and find the deer.

Go to the town hall and get the tax records. They even sell plat books for around $20 for the county that has topo maps with all of the landowners names. Then you can find out who owns it and ask for permission. Welcome aboard! Good luck. Let us know how you made out.

Do you have a record of calls made? If so, although illegal, I’d hop the fence and go find the deer. You tried to do the right thing. Letting a deer lay because he crossed a property line isn’t something I’d do unless expressly told not to go on the land. Call me an outlaw...

Exactly. I'd rather ask forgiveness than permission. I have found that people, especially people who hunt, are very forgiving and understanding, especially if you don't have a hunting implement. Getting told no and then getting caught is usually way worse than just getting caught trying to do the right thing and recover an animal.

Go find the deer and take the off chance that you bump in to someone out there, if you do just be polite, apologetic, and explain the situation.

I bet he’s piled up in that thick stuff. Start grid searching and see if there’s a local hound available.

Your stuck between a rock and a hard place, your trying to do the right thing in not tresspassing while trying to recover the deer.... By telling CO that you tresspassed it could backfire on you.... Just saying.... I'm assuming it's fairly warm in Ohio right now and by the time you cross all your T's and dot your I's this deer if dead has probably spoiled... So at this point take it as a lessoned learned and hope deer survives....

I commend your honesty in not wanting to trespass. It's a shitty situation for sure. I third the opinion of not carrying a weapon. I meant to say that and forgot.
If someone questions you, just be honest and tell them you hit a nice buck at such and such a spot and tracked it here and you really hate to see it go to waste.

If you happen to bump the deer... it is what it is. At least you tried.

And take a dog leash! LOL

If you do run into someone. Treat them the way you would like to be treated. I’m sure if I was on private and some dude came trampling into my area...I’d start by being really pissed off. The dog leash would just aggravate the situation for me. Keep honest. Even if the guy doesn’t calm down, it might help in the future. Honesty goes a long ways still with some people.

It is funny though. Fucking dog ran off! 😂

This is where that real nice fancy camo really helps out 🤣
In all seriousness, just remember that if this property neighbors public any hunters or landowners have probably had their fair share of assholes stroll through hunting so if you get busted you might start off by gettin your ass chewed. Just remember to keep calm and play nice and I'm sure all will work out.
Hope to see some pictures soon!

This.

Hope you recovered him. If you tracked him as far as you did, you only caught 1 lung. 2 lungs and he would have been dead far before that. 1 lung can be tough. with 1 lung the best thing you can do if you jump him is to keep pushing him.
