I'm not ashamed. Buckeyes had a great season. Beat ourselves tonight. Was a good game to watch. Go Joe Burrow! Make Ohio proud Jan 13.

An awesome season. Hell of a team. What's disappointing is you can see the true potential, the first quarter intensity, that last drive until the pick, the half of the Michigan and title game. Day just has to keep that team for all 4 quarters. Probably for the best though because LSU is going to destroy their opponent.

Or first and last drives of the games we moved the ball at will and had them on their heels. Why we backed off and slowed it down is beyond me. The BS reversal of that defensive TD OSU had with no blown whistle hurt us bigtime. Plus our 3 settled FG’s after being in the inside the red zone killed us. We beat ourselves but the team that made the least mistakes won.
Dabo had his team ready and prepared and deserved the win.
I’m proud of how the Buckeyes played all season! Nothing to hang their head about with tonight’s loss.
Now I’m rooting Joe Burrow to bring it home even though he’s playing at home. Lmao!!!! Gonna suck hearing the SEC chanting when they win....🙄😂🤣

As for the desputed targeting. Like I said im not a fan of the rules but here are two of them. If he didn't get it for the first, he would have for the second one en without the helmet to helmet.

  • Leading with helmet, shoulder forearm, fist, hand or elbow to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area.
  • Lowering the head before attacking by initiating forcible contact with the crown of his helmet

Two solidly coached teams. It is EASY to sit here and play armchair quarterback. Especially after the game is over. The catch, four steps, fumble, scoop and score? That hurt. Targeting call is what it is. Settling for 3 FG in first half wasn't all bad "IF" our defense didn't give up the big plays to end the first half. As it turned out, it came back to haunt us. The penalties? Some of it was refs. Then again, I'm certain just as many were missed on both sides. Therefore, we hurt ourselves with penalties. I won't blame the refs.

The punt with 3 minutes to go has me scratching my head. The Buckeyes had moments of greatness in offense. Not four complete quarters but they were doing well in the fourth quarter. I'd have liked to seen us go for it on fourth down. Again, it is VERY easy to critique post game. I'll bet Ryan Day is kicking himself on that one right now. Our D flat out played smash mouth football the whole game. Clemson's drive after our punt made our defense look horrible. Four plays? Ugh. Even so, we ran right back down the field. I truly believed we were scoring a TD and winning the game all the way up to the final interception. Fantastic football game!

Bullshit, that douche lowered into his helmet trying to protect himself from getting hit. I wasn’t a fan of a lot of calls and I believe the refs took the fire out of OSU. I don’t believe the best team one that game. I mean, WTF is a catch now? Had that been a play on the open field, it was a catch all day long.

as the rule is written, that was targeting. stupid ass rule; fodder for another discussion. the scoop and score was ruled a catch, fumble and score on the field. overturning that call with the video replay was dead wrong, imo, and it likely directly affected the outcome of the game. even LSU can't win against the officials. still, the Buckeyes gave up too many big plays at the end of the first half and at the end of the game. and could not score a touchdown in the red zone. credit to Clemson. maybe next year. oh, and fuck Clemson, geaux tigas!

Well it's because IMO Day made a mistake by not going for two after the previous touchdown and leaving the buckeyes up by only two. He couldn't risk a turnover in downs in Clemson territory because a FG would have won it. His gamble was to pin them back deep, get the stop, and get better field position for a TD or at least a TD. . Unfortunately Clemson was back in FG range in two plays and scored a TD in four plays.

Are you talking about the attempted diving endzone grab by Dobbins? That was not nor ever has been a catch from peewee up to the NFL. That was as textbook targeting as there is. I hate the rule. But it wouldn't have mattered if it was helmet to helmet or not. Even if he hit him square in the chest, as soon as he lowers to use the crown, it's a penalty

Yeah, we left some points on the field. Still, we had that game taken from us and nothing anyone can say will change my mind.

What took that game from OSU was a complete slacking off in the 2nd quarter allowing two TDs right before the half.

Allowing a 90 yard drive for a TD in just 4 plays with three minutes to go.

Completely destroying a beautiful last drive throwing straight to a defender on 2nd and 7 from the 30. Blame the receiver all they want for running bad route but that was a needless pass in what would have been double coverage. At best it was a 50/50 ball and a risky play for no reason.

Dobbins turning his head before catching the ball and dropping it in what was a clean and green backfield

Fields leading dobbins too far in the endzone on a 5 yard pitch play.

Somehow letting a QB amass 107 personal rushing yards. Think about that. Dobbins the star RB only put up 170 or so which is a damn good game for any RB.

A bad call from Day not going for two which later forcing him to punt on third down with 3 minutes left.

Roughing the punter giving the ball back to clemson resulting in a score.

Three settle for a field goals inside the 35.

Bonehead ass targeting by a star defender who should KNOW better, especially against a QB.

I mean yeah, that was a bad call on the scoop and score, but make no mistake, nobody stole that game from OSU but OSU.

Better to lose a hard fought game that could’ve went either way than get embarrassed by LSU playing in the biggest college game of the year.
