I was busy doing stuff today during the rain but got showered up and hunted a fields Edge the last 1.5 hours before dark. Wind blowing out of the WNW allowed me to check camera on way to make shift blind location. My one and only shooter is still alive but still nocturnal on this small farm. I set up 120 yards downwind from his favorite entry trail onto this farm. I wish I had permission and the means to hunt where he’s coming from but I don’t. He’s coming through there around 6:15-7:00 pm every 2 to 4 days by himself with nose to the ground imagine looking for some late estrus does. I’m left with just hunting as close to this opening playing the wind hoping a hot doe might get him on his feet earlier. Last year I did finally get him on camera in daylight but it was mid January and he shed one side a few weeks later on Feb 1st. I’ll be out tomorrow afternoon giving it another shot with my muzzy before my work week starts back up again.
Good luck to all who are in same boat and congratulations to those who are successful 👍🏻👍🏻

Well we had a chance again at that buck and again no shots fired. We sat up on the ground, down wind of our stands this time. I'm sitting about 10 ft away so I can get a better camera angle at him and potential deer.
Sure enough right at 730 I see a deer coming from behind my son so I flip on the camera but due to it being kinda a dark morning the camera wasn't really picking it up so I forgot about it. Deer gets 30 yds and I see the rack and as loud as I could I whisper get ready! I look at son and he turns to look, all is well deer still coming, I look back at deer and it's closing the distance quick so I whisper back again at son who is looking but not going for a gun or anything (ready to loose my mind). Deer stops 15yds broadside and is just looking around, I whisper again take the shot!!!!! Son looks at me and not moving slow and put his hands up(as in what!) Now I'm just about ready to blow up, I whisper shoot, he says shoot what! Deer runs and blows. At that point he then seen it and gave me a oohhhh crap, throw up look lol. Apparently it had super camo on and blended in excellent and the kicker is when it blew another buck stood up 50 yds away and ran opposite direction.

LOL the frustration continues

My daughter had zero chance of shooting Saturday. If we had been in a stand, it would’ve rattled😂. I was able to share the story from you two last week. I can’t wait to tell her this one after she gets out of the shower. Keep sharing man, I’m loving it!
