Your kids will be fine. Very low rates of even mild symptoms in teens. Not a single death in the 0-9 age group. Only 1 death that I know of in the teens. While they still get it and are contagious, most kids don't even have symptoms.
I’m not thinking about me, I’m thinking about our dads and some of our elder members.

My grandma is 93 and lives in a nursing home in Oregon. I’ve had a cough for two weeks and am too scared to go visit her in case I have it. Their whole home is basically on lock down right now.

Scary man. Best to play it safe and let the facility do it's job. I am sure they are just as freaked out as you.

Thinking about it and talking about it still doesn’t do a thing. We can’t stop this.
No, but we can slow it down if people start adopting precautions. Instead of it slamming the entire healthcare system in a month or two we can spread it out over 6 months and greatly increase the quality of care and reduce deaths.

I don’t see enough people following to make a real difference. People don’t want to change their routine “it’ll never happen to me”. By the time it does, you’ve already done the harm by spreading it all over, including the ones you love.

Tipmoose is on a cruise. Same idea. Only he will spread it inside office meetings and such.

This is just a very small portion of the population that is well informed and has been on top of this as it developed. With two very real examples. You are blowing smoke up my ass telling me we can slow it down.

The governor shut down the Arnold Classic this weekend and vendors are pushing the contract. People will still go. People don’t want to hear negative things or think that it’ll effect them. They just want to go on with their every day lives and will do more harm than good. We can’t stop that, we can’t change that, it is what it is.

Let’s make an example real quick. Phil done said earlier that he was going on vacation. As soon as he gets back, he will rush to his elderly mom to check on her and tell her all about it. Sunday he will go to church along with a bunch of other elders. If it snows, he will be at nursing homes clearing snow.

This is one, very real, example. You can’t stop this. Even if you think you’re taking all the precautions in the world, it’s still going to find it’s way. To little to late.

I don't disagree. I am very find of saying that as long as Instagram is working and people can get a hamburger for a buck they don't really care. Much like deer hunters self policing and not decimating the deer population, not enough people will care and think they don't apply. However that doesn't mean that we should throw our hands up and not try. While precautions can not guarantee that you personally will not get it, it can greatly reduce your odds of getting it.
