I think the CDC is full of shit. First of all an upper range that is 850% than the lower range, and a lower range that is greater than the number of confirmed cases is complete horse shit. The most talented people stay in the private sector and heres the result.

"Confirmed cases" is a completely skewed number due to the lack of testing. The only time you will have compete and positive numbers is when its completely over. By then it's way too late and those numbers don't do a bit of good.

Even if we go low on the 40-70% infection rate and say 40%. That's 144 million infections. And then, even if we go with an absurdly low fatality rate of half a percent that is still 720,000 deaths. So their 200k estimate is at the extreme low and very very optomistic end, the 1.7 million is what they're claiming to be the max. The WHO is estimating the fatality rate to be more like 3.4%. So if we keep the minimum infection rate and go with that then we're looking at 4.9 million deaths. So I think based the data they have and what theyve seen so far 200k -1.7 is pretty dang optimistic and hopeful.

I’ll believe it when I hear about 200k dead, confirmed caused by corona.

The greatest irony I see? Joe is speculating on the govt projections based on estimated models. Use models to project deer population and Joe's head explodes. (Just teasing Joe. It is a bit ironic though.)

@Geezer II I am still on the fence. I believe there is a virus. I believe the media has blown it out of proportion. I don't think it is a joke. I just don't think we will stop it. If I am meant to get it, then I will get it. I can avoid large groups. I can wash my hands a lot and avoid touching my face. It is what it is. For the record: I do realize "why" they are stomping on our constitutional rights. It is an attempt to control the spread to make it manageable for the health Care system. I will comply in efforts to assist. Civic duty if you will. Not to save myself. To prevent those more susceptible from getting it.

A bunch of people are catching a cold. Not a common cold, but a cold. Old and compromised ones are having a tougher time as with all illness. It is a shot across the bow. Be ready for something worse and be glad this was a God damned cold.

That's because the federal government has been smart enough to base their models on actual data and previous instances, and stated the methods used to reach their conclusion allowing peer review. . The deer number guess by the DNR was pulled straight out if their ass. 😉

The time to stop it, or as it's called, "containment" passed a long time ago. Now the goal is to slow it's spread to better allow us to treat it. I knew we had no hopes of containing it when I saw the shitshow they pulled flying to Japan to get Americans off the cruise ship and immediately blew containment by allowing sick people on the plane.

Explain the stomping on our right thing - thanks

SARS is in the coronavirus family along with the common cold and had a final mortality rate of 15%.. MERS was a coronavirus with a fatality of 35%. YES COVID-19 is in the Coronavirus family with the common cold. But saying this version of SARS is "just a cold" is as stupid as saying that since Morel mushrooms are edible the rest of mushrooms are just as safe too.

And COVID-19 is in the coronavirus family with a mortality rate of? And symptoms with the severity of? No one said SARS was just a cold. You’re quoting a straw man. Nice try. That’s called hyperbole.

Uh. You did. Right here.

A bunch of people are catching a cold. Not a common cold, but a cold......

..... be glad this was a God damned cold.

COVID-19 aka (SARS-CoV-2) is in the coronavirus family. SARS-1 and MERS are also in the Coronavirus family along with the common cold.

Coronaviruses are a family of viruses. To say that SARS-CoV-2 aka COVID-19 is just a cold is assanine.

I'm still thinking we are going to see an oh shit boom on this.... Just from info from health departments my wife has been in contact with (she's a principle) My wife has been sick since last weekend stayed home all week -Doctor said flu. It was verge of should we go to the er sick last night but without a cough until last night. Went to a doc today got a script for breathing treatments........no virus test.....her lung X-ray was clear pre pneumonia is what they claim. I'm guessing with flu season still hear we will never know how many r infected by what but I'm guessing old folks would be in trouble with what she's got even if it's not the c worst she's ever felt. It was kind of a oh shit feeling last night thinking we are going to have a double bad flu season and hospitals could be over run if it's truly going to boom. Now what should I do since she's home indefinitely? I don't work inside in close quarters with people. I'm generally always healthy and only feel a slight ache or chills during flu seasons but could definitely carry to others what she's got even if it's not the c. So I guess I'll try my best to b in qurintine but still gotta provide....and my boy had pink a few days ago and I'm carrying that shit now as well or I scratched my eye yesterday ...but I got his leftover drops...image.jpeg F winter.
