Not likely. The USAR holds>80% of the medical force of the military. Other than the the enlisted medical folks (medics, LPNs) the rest are officers who have civilian jobs doing the same thing. All you'd be doing is removing healthcare providers from one area of need top a different one.

I'm no constitutional law scholar but I think the 5th amendment would apply that limits eminent domain, each state also has the power of eminent domain. The 5th states that the government can take property for public use providing they give just compensation. They would meet all of the criteria for this, however they could claim that they are not "taking" but rather temporarily using. So as long as they paid the hotel just compensation for that time period then they're within the law. I have a feeling if it came to this that hotel would be empty anyway meaning "just compensation" would be minimal.

It's accelerating. Used to be doubling every 4 days. It's down to every 2-3 days. However the deaths are not doubling in the same amt of time.

This is based on my unscientific observation of the John's Hopkins dashboard.

I went to the grocery store around 9:00pm
last night for my weekly run to get my mother her groceries. This was the meat section.

Other sections were wiped out, Ramon noodles, pasta, frozen pizza, milk, of course toilet paper.

I asked the employees working how it had been. They said they had never seen anything like it and it had been this way for the last 2 days.

Several stores closed early to try and restock from the madness, I wonder what happens when people need to restock and maybe things are not available?

People will die from lack of supplies or fear of going out and it won't take but another 7-10 days of this before violence ensues. For the first time in my life, I prepared a firearm with the actual belief it might be used to kill someone. As a non-military person who does carry, but admits to never REALLY thinking I'd need it, I now think it's a legitimate possibility if we don't pull out of this in a couple weeks. Like I told Giles, I have things people want, so I hope they consider death before choosing to test my humanity.

The federal government needs to realize we are in a war and needs to take war measures - run all factories 24 - 7. Reatore the supply lines - step up productinon of necessary medical supplies and etc.

When Is this going to happen? haven't seen any footage of people becoming or know people becoming sick sick above what goes down every year or a spike in hospitals . So far nothing going on but fear.....if it doesn't strike or spike by next weekend I'll b believeing in the election/govt take over/whatever crazy scenarios u can think of.....

Sad or true? 7 to 14 days....we've had dots all over the us 2 weeks now basically no preventions until states closing schools which it should be everywhere as people r probably in more contact with each other than before due to panic. People sick reporting about being sick and the oh shit sirens should be blazing.....but it hasn't sounded other than fear....so when?

"will have" is a strong prediction, which is not what I said. What I'm saying is it's not unreasonable to think there will be isolated incidents of "anarchy" if the shelves stay empty and people continue to hoard. Two more weeks of that WILL cause problems. Anarchy is also a big word, which I did not use. And those statements have nothing to do with the actual fatality or other physiological consequences of the virus.
