What do you think Warren Buffett will do with his $1,000 check from the government? I pretty much know what my meth head cousin will be doing with hers...

This was meant to be humorous and ironic, not to stir a serious conversation. Smile and carry on.

Hurry up and wait.

I asked Tevan if she wanted to hold off building a home and invest the down payment right now. Then resume build plans in 1-2yrs to recover the down payment. The long term opportunity for ROI is huge (say it in Trump's voice please...huge!)

Yuge.. Very Yuge.. While I know the overall markets will recover nicely the only thing that concerns me is individual business recovery. We will likely see a lot of tickers claim bankruptcy. Nobody is immune from the small company that just hit an IPO last month, to the giant behemoth that is GM. If you keep your money in funds you can hedge this some but a loss of a ticker would take a cunk that may take a while to recover.

It might be a year or two before we carve a bottom and start climbing again. We simply don't know what to expect. Maybe wait a year or so for economy to tank. You may save thousands shopping home builders.

With things getting better in China, can anyone verify that the shit tickets are back in production? Stressing over here. Or do they have an alternative plan figured out? Anything?! Not sure I can handle hearing about it much longer. Shit has hit the fan and no one has any shit tickets.

These day by day people are freaking out. Anyone ever plan to have a bad accident or anything happen that didn’t let you go home right away? Maybe I’ve lived a life that has thrown me enough curve balls that I try and keep my family well off, but damn. I never realized how many people didn’t prepare at all.

Just had a brain fart...

As a generous group that I know the 'TOO' family is, and with the thoughts that things may take some time to turn around for the better, as friends/family/members, I would think some of us could possibly pull some resources together to help out another fellow member and their family that may have an immediate dyer need of something for whatever reason and has nowhere to turn for help.

My thought is, those of us with any kind of potential surplus of certain items of the needy to perhaps consider donating.

I'm willing to help if I can with the consideration of minimal risk to my own family first, which I believe that's a given for most of us.

Perhaps create a different thread for those that are having difficulty finding and/or acquiring certain items. Fellow members could post proven suggestions, recommendations or offer up sending those items directly to those that are having the immediate need.

Again, it's just a thought that I wanted to bounce off of you guys first.

Honestly, I've been isolated from the public domain for quite some time now. As long as the electric stays on, or even not, I believe I'll be able to get through this event, even if it's for the long haul without having to leave my home.

Honestly it's not a bad idea. Like Phil said, you might actually get a home built much cheaper too if the demand starts to fall. I've been eyeing up the Cedar Point (FUN) ticker... That baby is en-route to a 20 or 30-year low. I can't imagine it not bouncing back, unless it goes bankrupt before the turnaround.

I had another member contact me yesterday offering the same thing. So if anyone knows a family in need, I’d start a thread for them and see what the area could provide.

Didn't we just go through a recession not to long ago and people learn anything from it? Being young sucked financially things were tight just starting but hard to think a majority of normal American people can't make it one week Without a paycheck .....and that's the govt response as well....and we r in like day two or three and financial shortcomings haven't even started basically....

That is exactly what I’m saying.

I caught a little talk about cash handouts and now I’m really pissed. Every time they print more money, it makes my hard earned money worth less.
