@Joel I believe they are adjusting unemployment in Ohio to include people with hours cut back. The goal being to give everyone their normal 40 hour paycheck. Now if you bank on that extra 15-20hrs of overtime you won't see it. But at least a 40hr paycheck is coming. My wife had a teaching job cut. Her regular RN job has its hours cut back. I doubt we apply for unemployment. We are stupid. Or honest. However you look at it. If we get thin and NEED it. . .I'm sure we will apply. I figure I can be part of the problem or part of the solution. For a guy like you? I hope you get your 40hr pay check. I don't look down on anyone for taking this. That is EXACTLY what it is designed to be used for. My issue? Why did we just spend TWO TRILLION dollars? Why not roll it out in waves? First round for unemployed and vaccine research. Give some to hospitals. Let's help those in immediate need. See where the virus takes us. Then we roll out other stimulus to juice the economy. . . .IF it needs it. A series of reassessments and adjustments if you will.

Yes, I'm no doctor, so please understand that it has become extremely difficult to sift through all the bullshit that is out there.

I suggest that you reach out to your own healthcare provider as to what they are doing for treatments. Contact their office for any questions that you may have and/or are feeling sick obviously.

What that said, here is a doctor that is on the front lines treating his patients in NY where the media establishments are trying desperately to discard. You can make your own determination, however I find him to be creditable by researching him thoroughly through other sources. There are other doctors and state healthcare providers that are also treating the sick with the same methods and mentioned drugs, and yes, studies are happening else where as well.

Again, please understand that I truly care for all Americans regardless of sex, religion, race, ethnicity, class or whatever.

I'm pressing forward to sift through whatever and share what I feel is relevant to the current crisis to the best of my abilities and I hope that each of you understand that I do not have to do this, but I choose to do so because I'm a patriotic person that believes in 'United We Stand'.

My opinion is that he should have been saving at least 20% of that $166,400 he was making prior.

Yes and no, IMHO. When you're making 130k, the only reason you're living paycheck to paycheck is because you choose to or you made some really bad decisons. There is much less wiggle room when you're making 30k.

I can’t argue that. I went extreme for my example. Point I’m trying to make is about living a life you really can’t afford. To many of us, myself included when I was younger, live with our credit maxed out. That ain’t living folks, that’s surviving. A couple of weeks/months off shouldn’t ruin your life.

I went into this knowing I would piss some people off. Some of the people I care about fit into this category I’m talking about. I hope just one person reads these asshole comments and at least takes a look at themselves. People can change how they live and how they spend. Just gotta break the cycle.

I was once so bad in financial trouble that I didn’t know how I was going to feed my daughter and pregnant wife. I lost my steady paycheck from the military and I lived like I’m taking about. I was scared shitless. I was basically broke overnight with no place to live, a child, a wife and another child on the way. I made a deal with myself. I had to start over to make it happen and I did. Spent $800 to file bankruptcy. (One of the sickest things I ever had to do.) The first loan I was able to get for a vehicle was 23.5% interest on $5,000. We moved into my inlaws basement. And the climb started.

Why do I share this? Because I sound like a complete asshole telling people to man up. Truth be told, I don’t think a single person on TOO knew this story. I’m not proud of it. But, it did help make me who I am today. Sometimes failing is for the better.

Yes, we used WIC for a couple of years. That was the only handout we got. I was very thankful to have it and I’m glad we have things to help those truly in need. This is my story folks. Now you know why I’m being an ass. Life is full of choices I don’t suggest waiting on a bailout. It isn’t always an option. Best of luck to all of you and I wish the best. Getting off my soap box. This was supposedly the model that led Trump to implement what he did. Its odd that our domestic news sources aren't running with this.

My story isn't a drastic as yours, but once I got out of college and had to get a job I ended up living paycheck to paycheck and was maxed on credit too. Then I let my mouth run at work one day and got fired. Got a new job and promptly got fired from that one and the one after. Found myself unable to pay rent. Got a loan from my uncle for one months rent and lived with a friend for about six months until I could find a job and save enough for the deposit. Was on food stamps for about 3 of those months. Hated it. From that point on my climb started too. Left the field of work I loved because nobody was hiring full time. Taught myself how to write code and became a tester, then an automation tester, then a developer. Got a programming degree and then a masters. I put every last bit of money I could in savings or my 401k.

And now, 25 years later, Im sitting in a pretty good position. I had to make choices. Hard choices. I don't have kids except for the ones my gf had with her first husband. I never will have ones of my own. I regret that...but I chose financial independence over offspring. Ive never forgotten how it felt to not be in control of where I was going to live or how I was going to eat. That drove me to do the things I had to do to get where I am.

Life is all about choices. Good and bad. Those are what define you.

Bahrain, Belgium report coronavirus treatment touted by Trump is working for patients

Clinical Tests of Hydroxychloroquines to Fight COVID-19 in Bahrain prove successful

Bahrain and Belgium report their hospitals are successfully treating coronavirus patients with the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine touted by President Trump as a possible breakthrough in the pandemic.

The Kingdom of Bahrain's Supreme Council of Health chairman said his country was among the first to use the drug and that its impact has been "profound," according to the Bahrain News Agency.

Dr. Shaikh Mohamed, who leads the National Taskforce for Combating COVID-19, was also quoted by the news agency as saying hydroxychloroquine was administered according to the same regimens as those used in China and South Korea.

The first COVID-19 case in Bahrain was reported on Feb. 21, and hydroxychloroquine was first administered to patients showing virus symptoms on Feb. 26. As of March 25, the virus had caused 4 deaths in Bahrain, according to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center.

Hydroxychloroquine is used to prevent and treat malaria and is administered to patients with rheumatoid arthritis or lupus.

Meanwhile in Europe, another U.S. ally, Brussels, is reporting similar early success with the same drug and is taking steps to ensure its availability for the sickest coronavirus patients.

“Using the limited stocks of these medicines for unnecessary or unjustified preventive treatments jeopardizes the availability of these medicines for patients who need them: chronic patients and hospital patients seriously affected by Covid-19,” Belgium's Federal Agency for Medicines and Health Products said this week.

Belgium, like the United States, has begun a longer-term clinical trial on the efficacy of using Hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19 patients.

The odds of a pandemic have always been present, the CDC and government has drones on about it for years. The hospitals themselves failed to plan and prepare for a well known possibility.
