Man... I got nailed with a gafftop spine right in the crook between the index finger and the thumb once. He was a big one and I belly grabbed him where one spine is between your index and middle and the other between your thumb and index.. In an instant he flopped one way and drew that spine back, then flopped the other and drove a good inch in the meat. Hand swole up like mickey mouse. Still have the puncture scar.
