Agreed. He didn't eat it, just killed a breeder for a picture.

I thought the breeders were twice as big/weight wise and the eaters were this size or smaller or did I miss hear the show I was watching?

Anything over 150 was a throw back for me. Just can't hardly eat the stuff. So thick you gotta cut it 3-4 times to get it so you can cook it. Taste isn't near as good either. Chewy...

I'll take 2 @40-80 lbs and be happy! Some good eats. That right there is a rare catch and a hell of a breeder fish.

How common is it to get 2 in the 40-80 pound range? Do you get one or two every trip or are the scarce?

2 is the limit on recreational boats. Pretty easy to catch a couple 35-45 lb fish.

Last I looked, charters are cut down to one fish limit with size restrictions. If this fish was caught on a charter boat, this guy will serve some time. Alaska doesn't play around.
