Congrats, how big were them hooks?

The beard is 7”
The hooks were .75”
Is that good ? Can you age the bird from that?

Typically a 2yr old has up to 3/4” Spurs. 3 yr old has 1” and pointy. 4 yr old around 1 3/8.

A two year old bird can have a 10” beard or so. It grows all the time and the ends break off as he feeds by rubbing the ground. The taller the bird the longer the beard can be. Spurs is the only way to gauge the age of a Tom.
