The Irish Setters are not made here, or at least I couldn't confirm they were. The Thorogoods have mixed reviews, so I went to one of the "Made in the USA" sites and checked out Carolina, Chippewas, and others. Landed on Danners page and I have experience with them (Pronghorns that I love) so I decided to roll with their Bull Run boots. After spending another day in my "heels", I needed a different style of boot for my daily wear. Hoping these are it.

Danners are pretty solid, too... at least the ones made in the USA. Can’t believe I didn’t think of those earlier.

I just bought a pair of Red Wings, 2414, still made in the USA. I hope this is my last pair of work boots. Amazing how your feet grow the older you get, size 15 and I'm hung like a Fruit Bat. I have a few pairs of Russell Moccasin size 13 if anyones looking for high end boots.

Reporting back that these have been a great purchase. I wear them 4 days out of 5 right now. Super comfortable and built to last. Would definitely recommend.

Took a stroll down the block at lunch today and hit up the local leather goods store. I know the owners and usually get treated right. Today was no different. I made this mistake of trying these on and hole-lee-shit did Dan Post knock it out of the park with these insoles! I was wearing my tan DPs and I almost didn't put them back on. I wasn't planning on buying anything, and walked away twice, but couldn't leave without them. I'll still be wearing these in 30 years, so I'll get my $ back and then some. Like it's been said before "buy once, cry once" and I'm over the crying!

I can only speak to their desk jockey work boots, but they're a quality boot. I'd be willing to try their actual work boots based on my experience with their ostriches.
