I wonder how long it'll be before the Pirates of the world make my Buccos change their name?

I just can’t stand this crap. You guys are absolutely correct when you say the Native Americans arent the problem.
How about the Washington Redskins, Cleveland Indians, Miami (Oh) Redskins, St. John’s Redmen, etc... poll the Native American population and let them decide? When I hear it from them that they’re offended than maybe it is time for a change. But when it’s some group of far lefties calling for change... F Them!

Indians had 6 different names thru history - always be Indians for me - school took my 6th grade class to a game

So now the word Indians is offensive? Trying to keep up. I thought “colored people” was offensive but I always hear “people of color”??? NAACP? United Negro College Fund? Starting to see the hypocrisy here? The team was named after a tenacious and formidable people, it was not a derogatory term 
Wasn't it changed to the Indians because the team wanted to honor a short stop that was playing or had played for them, and he himself was Native American so they called them the Indians.

The CLEVELAND INDIANS baseball team, a charter member of the American League, founded in 1901, was originally named the Blues, then the Broncos, and from 1903-11 was known as the Naps, in honor of player-manager NAPOLEON LAJOIE. From 1912-14 the team was officially named the Molly McGuires but popularly was still called the Naps. In 1915 Lajoie was traded and, based on sportswriters' suggestions, the team became permanently known as the Indians, a nickname used in the 1890s when the Amerindian LOUIS "CHIEF" SOCKALEXIS played for the old National League CLEVELAND
