Ball bearings are just a variation of roller locked and roller delayed mechanisms that have been in use for 70 years or so.

yeah, there have been a number of military arms that used mechanical leverage for delayed blowback or locking. Just me but I prefer a big ole chunk of metal rotated into a slot. The ball bearings are probably much stronger than the threads on my muzzloaders breech plug in reality.

Straight pulls have been around a long time. This one is about 130 years old. You get the strength and accuracy of a bolt gun with increased speed.
