I think I've had the liberty of starting this thread the last few years. I haven't seen a dandelion yet...but this weeks lows are in the 50s! That is usually what I really look for. All this sunshine has to be warming up the ground quickly. Looking forward to my annual ribeye and morel meal. Happy hunting folks. May you fill your sacks...😂

If you ain't pulling my leg y'all are about to have a crappy mushroom season. Every time I've seen the yellows pop early like that it seems like the next cold front kills it and they just don't pop off again in any numbers. The good year's is where they progress through the blacks, grays, small yellows and then finally the monster yellows. But F me what do I know nobody can predict those damn things. 😅

I was tempted to wander a bit today but didn't. I'm thinking I still have a week or two as I'm up in Ashland cty and we have some cold weather coming up in this weekend. Next week I bet they'll be all over Ohio. The blacks at least.

Two callers on Coshocton WTNS radio “Trading Post” advertized to sell black and brown mushrooms for sale at $40 a pound yesterday. I assume they found them in or near Coshocton County?

I used to be a die hard morel hunter. Since getting into summer and fall shrooms I'm not as pumped up about them. There's 0 competition in summer and fall. When reports of yellows start around good traditional honey holes get trampled. I'll still go try to get a skillet full but it's lost a bit of luster for me.
