Playing around with the John Hopkins covid mortality risk calculator this morning and ran my numbers again. I have a 1.3 in 10 million chance of dying from covid. Basically I'm 100x more likely to choke and die eating dinner. When I run the numbers for my 67 year old dad who is 310lbs, has a history of heart issues and diabetes. He is 2.3 times more likely to die compared to the average risk of the population and falls within the "substantially elevated" risk group. So what does this 2.3x and "substantially elevated" mean, sounds scary.. For individuals in his same risk group there are 1.2 per deaths per100,000 people. The biggest risk to my old mans health is his weight.

Here's what I find telling.
My risk of dying from covid is 1.3 in 10 million.
The national risk of an anaphylactic (Allergic) reaction is 2.5-5 instances per 1 million people vaccinated.
Deaths reported to VAERS after getting the vaccine 3,486 out of 130 million people.
So.. I'm 38.4x more likely to get a life threatening allergic reaction, and 26x more likely to die from the vaccine than I am Covid.
Yet on the CDC website regarding vaccine safety the first paragraph states "The CDC recommends you get a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as you are eligible."

Got on this conversation with my eye dr. the other day when he found out that I had Covid back in November. After talking about it for a while and me mentioning how it took me so long to feel better as well as a co-worker who is still having side effects he brought up how everyone mentions the survivability rates but very rarely do you hear about those with possible life long issues because of it. He mentioned his neighbor who is 45 and had gotten Covid back in October. Healthy and no pre-existing issues whatsoever. He ended up in the hospital with it, ended up on a ventilator and eventually got healthy enough to go home. He survived but he also will be on oxygen the rest of his life as well as having heart issues from it all. He then talked about two other people in his family with somewhat similar stories to mine and his neighbor. My Dr. on Monday said people tout the survival rate as if it's no big deal if you get it, however he has a practice full of people that had no real health issues that now have lifelong heart and breathing problems and a lot of them are younger than me. Just something to think about as it isn't just like the flu.
And it's a small number, but I feel it needs added-
6,000 confirmed cases of covid after vaccination.

Today I was welcomed into the club after receiving my second dose of Moderna.

If anybody has had Covid and are curious if the antibodies produced by your immune system are still present, Red Cross automatically tests blood donations. All you need to do is go donate blood and the results return in one to two weeks. Heck, even if you haven't had it (that you know of) you can donate blood and find out if antibodies are present. The test isn't detailed so you don't know if antibody levels are high or low, or if they are changing over time, it is simply a yes or no test result.

For post #390. You would think this would be national news just to scare more people into getting the vaccine. I have no problems getting it once it's FDA approved until then fuck it. Ok the vaccine manufacturers can't be held accountable if they kill someone with there product but can the FDA be held accountable if they give it the green light? It may never get approved if that's the case.

Play with the calculator listed above. I just put in 5'11" and 280 lbs plus age 63. I am in the lowest risk percentile, i put in no other morbidity's.

I could definitely see it played that way. Just sharing some of the conversations I've had and where I am at for myself having had it before. My antibodies are almost nonexistent now and with how it affected me the first time I made the choice.
