Day 2 and we are leaving Minnesota and getting ready to enter South Dakota. Tonight we will be staying just outside of the Badlands should have interesting things to photograph tomorrow.

2 Exits before Wall is a cruise missle launch control 30 feet down in a bunker. Now decommissioned so you can go see it. One exit before Wall is an actual Missle you can go see in a cow pasture!

I’ll be careful not to do anything stupid. This was the sunset just before we checked in to our hotel. I hate taking photos with a phone when I have two great cameras with me. Only way I can share photos with you fellas.

Beautiful country out there. We enjoyed the Black Hills part of one day. Breakfast at Wall Drug. Hit the Badlands half a day. It was a stopping point on the way to Yellowstone for us so we didn't spend too much time there. Rushmore was visited. It's off the list of things to see. Probably never go back. Lol Safe travels to you!

Dick you may remember Blackbeard (Kurtis), him and his family just did a long trip out west. Sounds like it's on a similar path you are taking. Incredible views and I'm sure with your picture taking abilities you will come back with some awesome pictures.

Break off near Sturgis toward East Gate for Yellowstone, but don't go around the Big Horn mountains, go over them! That area is as beautiful as anything you will see on your trip!

I agree the drive over Big Horn mountains and down toward Cody is amazing.

Crazy horse is way more impressive, even if it is no where near done.

Sounds like our trip. Crazy Horse was skipped though. My in-laws went and chose to stay in their car while we went there. We couldn't do that to them. Too hot for them to sit and wait for us. Plenty to see and do out there.
