Been in here trying to kill a doe. Had 6 point under me about an hour ago. Other than that a bunch of squirrels.

Been huntin at home over the weekend. Seeing plenty of deer as always, however none of the ones I wish to harvest, or at least, not just yet. Last night I had four bucks and fours does underneath me at less than 15 yards throughout my 2 hour hunt. Nearly the entire hunt, I was covered in deer. Then I watched the more mature buck chase a couple of does, do a couple of scrapes, a new tree rub and then all of them left the immediate area bout 10 minutes before quitting time. All of it was captured on video camera and I will be posting that on my YouTube channel sometime today. It was a very entertaining hunt.

This morning, I was in the same stand. IDK how I managed to get in there in between all the deer activity this morning, but I did. Last night, both THUNDER & VEGAS was at this setup. THUNDER twice, once at 9:30ish and then again at 2ish a.m. VEGAS was about the same time roughly in the early morning hour as THUNDER, just shortly after him.

I got down early this morning, 9:30 a.m. Have things to do this afternoon, then I'll be back out at the same setup this evening, hoping to catch up with either THUNDER or VEGAS.

Things are really starting to heat up around my neck of the woods real nice!

I'll be hunting the other farm starting Tuesday morning through Friday, then back at my home for the weekend. At the other farm, I will be setup at a different location than what I have hunted the past two weeks. There are still a handful of real good bucks there too that I'd be happy to harvest.

This morning's doe encounter at first legal time until just before 8:00 a.m. where she went and bedded bout 35 yards from my stand, and as far as I know, she is still there right now and expect her to be back for this evening's hunt too. Photos are a combination of TC and cellphone, all in consecutive order by timestamp.

Terrible hunt, worse exit. I either bumped my target buck once, or twice, on the way out. 🤬I bumped a deer that was bedded overlooking the creek and it ran in a direction that would allow it to circle back to that spot. Then I bumped another/same deer 250 yards further down the holler. I checked the cam in that area and he ran through at 11:28 and I hit the cam at 11:35, which means the second bump was almost certainly him. He headed into some thick cover 150 yards from there, assuming he stayed on us and didn't run to the next county. Not sure what I'll do this evening with that little jewel of an encounter. #fuggme

It only takes one hot doe for him to get amnesia

All day sit in KS, was sitting on a round ble and this feller came to 35 yards after a doe. Her yearling split and he milled around for a while then followed her into bedding. They came out a couple hours later. She stopped and turned around and waited for him to catch up. Mature doe too. Then 4 separate coyotes follows their trail at different times. He’ll be tough to pass again but im here until Sunday. Hang and hunt on the south side of where they came from this morning. North wind. Cut beans to the east and cut corn to the west, in the wind row with the rest of it and the road to my south. Bedding to my north and east past the beans.

So, young Chase shot his first deer, a 5 point, his hands are covering the brow tines. He found his arrow then followed the blood trail till he found his buck!

His grandpa, my brother would be over the moon! His dad, my nephew was pumped as well. And his great uncle? Well, I gave them the grunt calls, the rattling horns and the decoy, so ya! I'm enjoying myself as well. Now he will be trying to talk me out of my doe tag next!

He and his younger brother and sister are driving his parents crazy with the calls I gave them. Oh, did I mention the half dozen turkey box and slate calls they got at the same time, along with 3 turkey decoys?! Ya! better then drums!
