After this morning's hunt, I loaded my stand, mucks, tree pruner, the bow into the pickup and took off to the other farm to go setup at a different location do to the northerly winds we're supposed to have the rest of the week.
I got there a little after the noon hour and left about a quarter after two, headed for home, just so I could get back in the same stand I hunted this mornin, which I saw four more deer after my morning post - 3 antlerless and 1 unknown.
Now I'm just thrilled to be sitting down in the stand resting cause I worked my ass off to put that new setup in this afternoon, all ready for the rest of the week.
I intended on settin that stand just south of perhaps the heaviest or the main deer trail that leads out/in from the cut soy-beanfield. There's a fresh tree rub right along the wooded/field edge @10yrds away from my tree too.
I also set a TC that covers my primary shooting lane/area out into field, right in front of that deer trail.
From my experience hunting that place a good many of times, the does hit the field early, then the good bucks join them right around/just before quitting time during the evenings, however, during real brisk cool mornings, it usually best cause that beanfield cup area, nearest to the main deer trail stays nice and shaded all morning long and well after the noon hour as well. Those good bucks like to cruise that area and do make their way out along the wooded/field edge during those late mornin hours.
Anyhow, I'm so ready for this evening's hunt, and totally lookin forward to tomorrow morning's hunt for sure. It should be a good one.

Then a view of the stand inside the tree I'll be huntin out of while standing in the beanfield in front of main deer trail when I actually took the photograph, and finally, the TC that is up in a small tree just inside the wooded edge, pointing out to the area I expect to have a shot opportunity in the beanfield on hopefully a good buck.
I shot a field tip arrow from the stand at 25 yards to the lead-out location of the main deer trail into the beanfield. The arrow was my maker to set my TC in the right direction, covering the right location.
My tree stand is in the more orange sugar maple tree, fairly high up in there, and I did carve me out a big shooting lane to stretch the bow out if I have too, or simply, to cover extreme close range.
I should be good to go come tomorrow.

I am beside myself. The bastard came in & stood there eating for 10 min. Never offered a shot. I dunno if the tractor finally got to him or something else spooked him. He turned & bolted .
First arrival. Just watched him freshen up a scrape @15yrds, then pissed in it. Still underneath me as I post this.

Farmers are finally picking the corn That should put some deer in the woods when they finish in a couple days.
