So my family (6,8,12 wife and I) were all battling the normal early fall "crud" last week. Stuffy noses, sinus pressure the normal stuff. I did my normal sinus issue routine of the sinus rinse (Similar to a neti pot) and the sudafed you have to show your DL for. Was on the mend and other than feeling drained like my body was fighting something nothing. At least one of the kids had been tested and were negative for the 'vid. My mother in law lost her sense of taste and smell on thursday of last week (11/11) and tested positive, my father in law tested negative at the same time. They were both fully vaccinated since this spring some time. I lost my sense of taste and smell on saturday and tested positive. I'm fully vaccinated with the moderna vaccine since January....does this count as my booster? I've had a slight cough but actually have felt great all week as if I'm getting over a cold. My sense of smell is gone but I have very basic tastes such as salty, bitter, sweet and sour with slight hints of other things coming through. For example cheetos are disgusting powered packing peanuts but cheese popcorn has something I can recognize. Bacon wasn't flavorful but it wasn't gross. Coffee is just a slightly bitter liquid.
This is really frustrating but it could definitely be worse. The mother in law is starting to feel better, it had her knocked down pretty good for a few days.
