32* with a 12-23 mph North wind and about 1/8" of ice build up already. Our creeks seem to be handling all the melted snow and rain thus far. Generators are all set and tested each earlier this morning for both here and at my wife's parent's home. We're as ready as we'll ever be and hope that we don't lose utility power or have too many trees/limbs come down on us, but if so, both my chainsaws are ready to go too.

Stay safe out there folks!

Dang Denny - gonna be some wrecked trees soon... what's amazing is that there's no snow pack there- over here @ Coshocton we still had 4"-6" on the ground as of last night (prior to dropping below freezing, even after the couple days above freezing ... now it's freezing that slush into an ice sheet and they'll be no way for the critters to get thru that ice sheet.

33 minutes ago, Sherriff Lavender of Ross Co. placed a LEVEL 1 SNOW EMERGENCY and an ICE STORM WARNING has been officially declared as well for our county.

Rainy and 31* with at least a 1/4" of ice build up at this point in time.

I remember a level 3 a time or two, and local sheriffs saying they can’t restrict motorists from going too work because of the liability should they be fired by their employer. Always thought that level was a joke….

Yeah, it's gonna be hairy around here over the next 12 hours or better. Already have pine branches hitting the ground and I'm worried about our barn and the cabin, hoping none of the trees or some of their large limbs give way during this storm. Our main creek is now hitting both bank edges, soon to flood over the top of them, and it's ragging pretty good too.

We'll get through this one way or the other.

@"J" - I have no opinion on the matter really other than I take it as just another piece of information regarding what road/weather type conditions are like beyond our property. I used to be out on the roads during LEVEL 3 declarations all the time when I did snow & ice removal for my clients. Never was bothered by any law enforcement when doing that kind of work back then.

Agreed!! This type of weather you are having is detrimental to turkeys, let alone all the other critters.
Did you serve that up for me to call turkeys stupid? Because it sure feels like you're trying to get me to make fun of turkeys. I ain't gonna do it though. No longer wasting my time to talk about how fuggen stupid they are. You aint gonna bait me in that easy. 🤣

We are in full on "embrace the suck" phase of this storm. Stopped at home to change out of these sweaty clothes (from sidewalk shoveling). Sat down for a minute. Think I might eat something. Have opened all businesses 3 times. Some 4 times. Loaders are keeping big lots open. Sounds like 3-4 more hours of heavy stuff and then we can get a good cleanup on things. I'm beat and probably have a solid 9hrs to go.
