You don't win championships with a coaching staff that sucks or by babying grown men who are making big paychecks. Do the job or he'll find someone that will. He expects that his staff upholds a standard. Even assistants that have been good enough to become coaches themselves still struggle against him.
Recruiting is always a funny business. Some make it, some don't. Some ride the pine and suck up a spot, some go on to transfer. I can bet you one thing though. Never once did a player get forced to transfer who the next year won the natty, and the Heisman, and then played in a Superbowl.
Despite all that though. As long as someone is performing as expected he's a great coach, fuck around and find out though, or be a reporter and keep asking stupid questions and he's not so nice.
