Reports from out of the TOO.

I moved to the FL panhandle more than 20 years ago. My two sets of grandparents moved to FL in '67 and '69 Ormond Beach and Sarasota so family vk's were almost always on one coast or the other.

I fish. Abundantly. Down here. I'll post up the seasons and what's going on. If you get a chance to visit the Redneck Riviera give me a PM chances are I can get you on some fish.

I took some time and got my ebike all tricked out, kinda mid-grade, to fish the panhandle of Fl in areas away from the crowds.

FL is one of the states where a 750W bike is classified as a bicycle. So taking it down the beach is just fine.

I ordered the sand spikes and a couple other items, ran the mission planning rehearsals this weekend and set out this AM.

With this i was able to roll 2 miles down onto Eglin Reservation(i have the online breach pass) and broke out the gear.

Oh I deflated the tires to about 8# per.

The sugar sand here is soft, I had cut a pad to put under the kickstand to give enough resistance to make it sturdy.

So this AM I take the bike down, get it rigged, ride it down and setup.

Bam. Pompano, one of the gourmet spices swimming the beach ⛱.

Got 5 today, kept 3. Pompano fight like a bluegill on steroids and the smallest was 3#.. luv saltwater fish fights.

A local, her name is Doobie, stopped about 2 miles from the parking lot and in that five min chat I caught two pomps..

@Jackalope - I weighed (pun) whether or not to try and mount a rake - bike's about at capacity - I toyed with adding tailer like I brought for the hog hunt but then I'd just bring too much non 'essential' crap. I've found publix headed shrimp on sale for $6.99/# (25-28's) I buy a pound split into 1/2#'s and put in a screw lid tupperwear. .... LoL - long answer for 'no' - just peeled shrimp. I also have a pack of FishBites in case I run out of my 1/2'# of shrimp.

Beer, Bait, Ice, Fish, Water all go into the Yeti. I won that Yeti for a 1st place King Mackerel back in 2011 or '12.

Today I rode from the house to the same(ish) spot, the beach changes with every tide. Took 35mins to go 10(ish) miles with two of those being down the beach in the sand.

@OO2 - def - the three rod holders 2 are for standard surf fishing the middle is setup for flyrod which I intend on taking on the right days. That's the one with a jig the last couple days to hop off and sight cast.

Another thing that just makes life better beach fishing is a bucket, for as many reasons as you can think of, a big reason is there is no way on God's green earth to a get a pompano on land that isn't looking like a sugar cookie, i.e., covered with our extremely fine white quartz sand. Fill the bucket with seawater, rinse the fish off and pop into the cooler. Happy angler.

But buckets take up space so I found a collapsible bucket and just used it the last two days. Works extremely well and takes very little room all folded up.

This reminds me of JetSki Brian, just different mode of transportation. He used to have a website and posted on a couple forums I followed years ago. Google him if you like, several stories about him.

No joke. I'll have to give that a look. I have a 20' center console but have thought about buying a 2 person ski for fishing. It would be so easy to run out to the island and fish the flats on a ski without worrying about tides and BS. I get the kayak guys but screw all that if I can run everywhere the same on a ski.

If you haven't already check out the Sea Doo fishing jet ski. Some good videos on Youtube.
