Turkey Season LIVE! - 2022 Edition

Sgt Fury

Sgt. Spellchecker
My buddies daughter and her fiancé just left. She brought over one of those glass jars and we recovered the gizzard from the carcass. When we cut it open, she said that it was packed…it had more stuff inside then the other three she did. She laughed and said he was going to pop! She showed me the process and it is drying now. You can get the little glass jars at the dollar store. They come in 6 packs. We put a white sticker on top with the beard/spur lengths and a sticker on the bottom with the date it was killed. She said her sister found it on YouTube and she decided to give it a try. She found two air soft pellets and a pice of metal that appeared to be casted from someone doing a welding job. She said the video showed all kinds of weird stuff in some of the gizzards. She also said they like to pick up anything shiny…and some people have found tiny gold nuggets in there. Learned something new today.👍

I had probably the funnest day in the turkey woods since I used to hunt with my mom. Austin and I got schooled last Saturday and today we set up near the same place. Early Gobbles from a couple over 300yrds, and right before flydown a group of Jakes chimed in. Over the next couple hours we had several laughs from the young group listening to them gobble at different things. All was guiet after 7 so at 8 here came the young guys, Austin tried to make himself believe he saw a long beard on the one so he dusted it and then looked at me and said: "Well you gonna double or not?" I laughed and said I guess I will. So what a mess we had. Lots of fun and I will eat my words for a while now, after telling a few people that I wasn't interested in killing a Jake with the current low numbers..... LOL but their were Nine total....
