Thumbs up to stand hanging weather. Only saw one deer, a WV 11-point, while doing so. Nice, safe permanent set to enjoy behind the house. Took down my LW climbing sticks and added this 20' ladder, a lifeline, bow and gear hangers, and some cedar limbs. Cleared a few lanes so I can shoot sitting down and she's ready to go.

Settled in where I glassed a big boy last night. There is a funky (but cool looking to me) 7 pointer with a big body who may not be safe. My freezer is getting low. Still not shooting does until I see enough of a rebound. Big booty Rudy better watch his step. 😁

Heard a 2 stroke dirt bike running well to my north a few minutes ago. I don't want him to ruin anyone else's hunt but sort of hope he does some laos in the fields north of me. Not to run deer, but to suggest they head my way. Lol

I've got all kinds of commotion around me. Zero confidence now.

Shot these two yesterday evening within 10yrds. Recovered the big doe, but still searching for him.

Short follow-up for anyone interested:

No dice on finding the buck. Hadn't slept since Wednesday night, and I only got a few hours then. Just totally sick over it all, and it stings a whole lot too. And when I say sick, I mean I was physically ill last night, puking often because my stomach was completely in knots and quite painful too. Nerves were totally shot come daylight but I was ready to go at sunrise at that property.

Anyways, I went through all the Tactacam camera footage that I have, which I do have both the entire deer encounters that I shot that evening.

Based on further review, I hit him way high and that's because he was much closer to me than what I originally thought at the time. I did not have time to range him nor make any type of micro yardage adjustment to the bow-sight. I just went ahead with my 20yrd pin and adjusted from there, spitballing it if you will. I was at full draw for minutes, from the entire time he got within 35yrds of me and him never offering up any kind of a broadside shot opportunity until he was right up on me, quartering towards me still, which I obviously needed to aim a tad bit lower than what I actually did, which you'll get to see within this brief video clip of the actual shot taken, and I attached the arrow impact photograph as well.

So, I spent the entire day stomping all over my hunting grounds lookin for that deer and I'm just plan worn-out now, completely dead on my feet. That property is not for the faithful or kind hearted when it comes to tracking and/or hauling deer out of there, especially from the bottom of any of those hollows, let me tell ya! That's exactly what I did last night too with that big doe. I pulled her straight up from the bottom, fully dressed out of course, approximately 90' from the bottom of one of those real deep ravines, and then tobogganed her straight to the truck bed by 8:30PM. I used 80' of tow slings that I keep in my pickup that I used to pull her up out of there last night. Hey, I got a helluva workout the past 48hrs or so.

Still no real major full blown rutting action happening either yet, but I do believe it's about happen at any moment. Could be tomorrow or possibly the next. All I know is that I'll be back at it again real soon.

Good night all! I'll catch up soon with all the other going ons now that I have my cellphone back from being repaired.
