Sunglasses

I was always a fan of Native sunglasses for fit and polarized. But now I work more than anything else outdoors, so I have been searching around for something Z87 that is more comfortable than your average safety glasses. Played with Pit Viper and ended up back with Nemesis. Loved the comfort and fit of the Pit Viper, just scratched really easy.

Today I noticed Leupold was in the eye protection world. Tried on a pair and about just left with them. But I wasn't about to pay that kind of money without doing any research. Everything I'm finding is looking right up my alley. The Blue mirror being the best for my working conditions. (They're cheaper from them directly)

I'm thinking about making it happen, anyone have a personal review of these or any other sunglasses? Z87 is what I'm looking for but any sunglasses review are welcome.

Before you drop that kind of coin, maybe go to your local Stihl dealer. They have safety sun glasses also. Very affordable. Lose them? Who cares. That affordable. Can buy 6 pair for the price of those. Although, I'm sure they aren't the same level of glasses, it may be worth the look.

I have done that very thing for years. Problem is that I always take them off to see better. With a quality lens, it actually helps you see better. So I'm going to be better covered for more time. These also carry the Luepold lifetime warranty. Misplacing them doesn't normally happen as they are on my face or on my hat.

I have a shatter resistant pair of costas. My second pair since 2010. They’re prescription lenses. They’re worn every day all day long. Been holding up too the daily grind.

My prescription pair have a clear frame. Really annoying to catch movement from behind you or cross sides in the reflection of the frame.

I lost the last pair when they flew off my head during the time I was dealing with a pissed off alligator at the back of my brother's boat last September. That bummed me out as I watched them sink to the bottom of that river because I really liked them for a whole slew of good reasons, In fact, as soon as I got back in town, I specially sought out a new pair of them at the nearest 'Rural King'. They are 'go to' sunglasses, brand and type despite that I have several others that cost a whole helluva lot more. I use them as needed for all kinds different outdoor activities.

I could never pay that kind of money for a silly pair of sunglasses, Dave, no-way no-how, unless I absolutely had to for whatever forsaken reason. Only my actual eye seeing/reading glasses would I and do pay the hundreds of dollars out of pocket for, and even then, I always get multiple new pairs every year because I'm too hard on all my eye glasses, sunglasses included, but the STIHL sunglasses have faired all the different types abuses of mine better than any other brand/type that I've worn in recent years. They're very comfortable, much, much cheaper, obviously, and meets OSHA standards/requirements regarding proper eye protection. I really like them quite a bit. They're good sunglasses IMHO.

When I wore glasses (had Lasik a few years ago) I always had prescription sunglasses. Since my eye surgery I do have nice sunglasses. I bought a bunch of Oakley sunglasses with their military discount including a really nice pair of shooting glasses. I've also bought off of Woot when they have Oakley's on sale for my wife. My fishing glasses are Sunclouds. All my sunglasses are polarized.

You truly can tell a huge difference between quality glasses and the cheapies. My eyes immediately relax. I didn't know Leupold made glasses.

I really like the WileyX glasses but they scratch too easy for me. Time for me to find a new brand as well. Following along.

Goodwill sells new glasses, so does TJ max. Probably won't work for you since they're work-related but I'm hell on glasses. Go through about 3-4 pairs a year between losing them and somehow breaking them. My favorite move is to forget they're on top of my hat and take my hat off to scratch my head, wipe sweet, or swat at a bug and they go flying and always seem to hit the concrete.

Just a couple more suggestions. Can't believe I didn't snag a pic of Macho Man with Miss Elizabeth. No offense to @Iowa_Buckeye but pics with him and his lady made me think of Macho Man sunglasses. Larger/wrap around glasses.

I just got some prescription Nike sunglasses. Also wrap around style to offer as much protection as possible. Frames $95. Might try the local eye doctor. I was surprised they were as reasonable as they were. (Until they added lenses and everything and ran it up to $350.)

So my first pair of expensive sunglasses were Maui Jim’s. I got a stupid deal, like 70% off, through Bass Pros fishing university when they sent me to Destin for a week. HD vision for sure, but I pulled the same move as @Jackalope and they flew off my head onto some unpadded carpet and shattered a lens. To replace the lens it would have cost me more than the pair did so I said fugg that and also decided they were too fragile for me. I am on my 3rd (I think) pair of costas. I’ve alternated between glass and plastic lens and haven’t noticed a difference other than the glass is heavier than the plastic by a decent bit. I have the amber blue mirror lens and they are awesome for sightfishing, guiding and everyday use. The only reason I’ve gone through so many is because I like to get drunk and do stupid shit that gets them broken.
