im learning ways of reducing flex in your arrow during flight , i have taken my bow from shooting 223 fps to almost 280 just by a few simple things

not trying to be a dick, but you said it. The guys are just asking how you do it. What "simple things" did you do to increase your arrow speed so much? And taking flex out of an arrow in flight is a real trick, when you find out how to do it, pass it along.

Seems to me that there are a few guys on this sight that could help you out as well.

no need to get defensive.

he hasnt taught me the trick in redusing some arrow flex

but with my bow , i went to a lighter grain per inch arrow , i also cut my arrows down to 28 inchs instead of the 30 inchers i was shooting , the wisker biscuit i am using is also affecting my fps by creating friction on my arrow, i borrowed a friends drop away rest and gained a bunch of fps , but couldnt keep it on there so i got my bisuit back on there im hoping by putting new cables and string on it will increase my fps by a little more

im going by the words he used , he could mean something else by vain tuning like slightly offsetting the vein when he puts em on or something

any information he passes on to me i will definatly share , right now were working on my shooting form , which has greatly increased my accuracy

Vain Tunning?? Ta mean like helicoil? Mark all I can say is sometimes it better to "Keep It Simple" and not drown in alot of the hype of all this stuff. Crap I have buddies that kill tons of deer with bottom end bows. Sort of like getting from point A to point B, yea a Hummer can get ya there but so can a VW. Best of luck.

What types of form things are you doing?

he is showing me different stances , like the open stance , where my front foot is towards my backside , the closed stance , where my front foot is in front of my center balance , and squared stance is where i draw a line with the front of my feet towards the target , , how to use different anchor points , back tension , torso positioning, hand grip , i used to just walk to a target pull my bow back anchor my my thumb on my cheek and let her fly , i didnt know your feet needed to be pointed in a right direction , or holding your bow to much would throw off your aim , ill start a thread on it this afternoon

Are you sure he's teaching you archery, or how to do the two-step?

Just kidding Mark, it's good you are.learning the finer points of archery and not just flinging arrows. Once you learn that, it all becomes second nature, then you can focus more on identifying your target before the shot and not so much on all the other crap. When you have a buck coming in quick, you need to be able to field judge him fast. So you can tell if he is 30" or a 130" deer. Allowing your instincts to take over allows you to use less focus on your anchor and stance, and more on other things. Keep up the fine work buddy! You are well on your way to being the next Fred Bear!

Good advice Flutey! Better to be like a Fred Bear than a Fred Flintstone.

I'm curious about the anchor points Mark. This is my third archery season so I still have plenty to learn. I was always told not to change the anchor point. Some things your goal is to make it automatic or learn muscle memory. Are you sure he is telling you to use different anchor points?

He is definately a 3d shooter. shooting from a stand, around the tree, under a branch, sometimes the stance just has to be improvised.

but if it helps you gain confidence then it will definately help.

So is he teaching you vain tuning, vein tuning, or vane tuning because only one of those "vain/vein/vanes" applies to archery. And to boot, I still have no clue what "tuning" said vain/vein/vane would be as I have never in all my years heard such a phrase. I'm just trying to educate myself here because obviously I'm clueless...
