Listened this morning before work and didn’t hear a thing. Going to try and roost one this evening. I’ve always watched the barometer which I believe affects gobbling. I know studies have shown between 29.9 and 30.2 results in the most gobbling. Curious if any of you guys have paid any attention to this? I typically use it as a gauge of how aggressive or patient I should be when working on a bird.

I used to believe the barometer played a roll. But I’ve been out on bluebird days and not heard a thing and have had turkeys gobble their heads off in pouring rain. I gave up trying to figure them out and just go every morning that I feel like going. I’m lucky to be able to hunt every day of the season for a couple hours if I want to.

They were fired up in ky this morning. My youngest brother shot one we put to bed last night and me and my other brother doubled an hour later.

Some of the best action I’ve had turkey hunting is the morning after a rainy stormy night. Looks like it’s setting up that way with the rain moving out just after sunrise . We’ll still find a way to fugg it up

I dropped off my dekes this afternoon. Did a dress rehearsal while I was there. Gonna be a good view to enjoy even if a bird never shows up.

I tied my blind down last night and she was flipped over full of water this morning

I also forgot my Sitka hat so my probability of success has plummeted. Turkey will see my mossy oak Walmart special, laugh and refuse to come in to my set knowing I’m an inferior hunter.
