Heading down to Mohican for a night starting tomorrow morning. It’s for a buddy’s bachelor party, and the plan is to rent some kayaks for part of the day, but the cabins (Fryes Riverside Cabins) that we rented are apparently right on the river. I’m tempted to take a rod and try the stretch right there. From the research I’ve done it sounds like browns and rainbows (don’t really care too much to catch them lol) and a variety of warm water species. Can anyone tell me if it’s worth fuggin with or not? Thanks guys.

River is red right now, hopefully it comes down by tomorrow. That said ive been on thr black fork and mohican in red conditions more than i care to admit. Fishing, no, ull be working to just stay in the middle and not overshoot ure landing🤣.

All depends how much they let out of Charles Mill.

Inflow is pretty high due to storms we had last night vs. their output, we got 1.5" here. All depends if they want their summer pool, 1ft is gonna flow for awhile. Hopefully they just limit over next few weeks and let the river drop another 2-3'. Have fun!

There are fish in the river but I've never fished it. The browns and the rainbows are on the Black fork of the mohican down from the dam at pleasant hill. When they release from that dam there's decent saugeye in the spillway.

I’ve caught a lot of saugeye in the spillway, you’ll have to wrestle for position with Amish.

If you're looking for food, i highly recommend trails end for pizza, beers, and the rest of their menu.

If you want to grill steaks either go into town to Stakes IGA and get the Twin Oak Farms ones or go to Stakes short stop (at the gas station by Trails End) and buy their seasoned ones.
Beanos bar is a good tim, I had my first shot in that bar at age 16. It can be a weird crowd, mixture of rural townies with early twenty something’s camping/hiking

It was for sale earlier this year so i dunno if it's open or what's going on with it. It was the last bar i almost got in a fight in so i rarely go there.
