I’m adding pics of my entrance and exit. He was quartered away and facing up hill. My initial reaction was it was too high, but with the blood dumping out and him down in 35 yards it obviously wasn’t. From the looks of it, I damn near made a perfect shot for the height and angle. First pic is the entrance, second pic at the tip of my shadow is the exit
Yep, this deer had been shot some time ago. Oddly enough, despite the lump in the shoulder and the bullet passing through bone, no antler growth defects. The atrophy was obvious all down his leg, but no serious infection and no holes in the hide. Crazy how tough these deer are...
