I’m in. Set up in this pop up blind that I set up a while ago. Had a decent doe or button (unsure) come busting ass out of the dried up swamp and stopped at 35ish yards, then proceeded to turn around and bust ass back to where it came from. No idea what is going on lol. Wind is perfect for this setup, overcast and quiet. Wife sat out tonight because she didn’t feel like going so here I am alone. She’s gonna be sad when I Snapchat her a picture of a buck when one miraculously shows 😂

Came to a 5 acre woods where I’ve hunted without seeing a soul for 5 years or any blinds or stands, I’ve seen a 160-170” deer here at 20 yards a year ago but couldn’t get a shot and watch him walk out of my life lol. Anyway as I’m walking to my stand this afternoon seen two different blinds surrounding me within a 100 yards, not really mad as I’m sure the old farmer gave them permission, just a little sad because the good hunting in this woods is probably over

My alarm is set. It is possible I shut it off and go back to sleep. Guess we will see if I hit the stand or not. On the plus side I was able to confirm the scope on my shotgun and muzzle loader as well as brushing the dust off my 17hmr. Cleaned the ML really well and will confirm it is dialed in before hunting with it. Embarrassed to say I had forgotten to clean it at the end of last season. Took some work just to be able to shoot it. Feels good knowing it is clean so I can dirty it again in the next few days in preparation for gun season.

Under dressed. Sun beginning to warm things up a touch. Wind picked up. Rookie moves. I dressed or 35 but didn't account for 10-12mph winds feeling like 25. 2 bucks the first 25 min. One at 50yds the other 150-200. Yearling walked under me before legal light. Have seen 2 pairs of doe/yearling. About the same yardages as the bucks. Both bucks were young.
