It all depends on seeding, but right now, I think Oregon and Georgia would be the best title game. I feel like they are playing the best of all of the teams at the top right now.

In random game observations, I was watching the end of Iowa St/Kansas St last night. Snow all over the field, and like big chunks of snow. Crazy conditions. Iowa St got the win, and I still can't believe my little Ohio Bobcats beat that team in Athens early in the season. OU held Iowa St to 7 points and won 10-7. They dropped 42 on K St last night...

Here we go. Let's hear about how a one loss OSU who won't even play in their conference championship game should somehow get in the playoffs. 🙄😅

Yep. A loss to a top 5 team shouldn't be measured the same as an unranked team.

Sitting at home and not playing in a conf championship game should be counted as a loss by default. Why is it we think teams can have their cake and eat it too while another team is in jeapordy by earning a title game? If there are loss implications for the teams that do play their conf championship games, then their should be default loss implications for teams that don't play and sat at home. If not why would anyone ever want to play the conf championship game and risk losing and being knocked out of the playoffs just so some team that didn't even earn the ability to play their conf championship game can hopefully make it in. That makes no sense. Either conf championship games count or they don't, if they count then teams that didn't play should be viewed as taking a loss by default.

If we're going to factor in teams that didn't even make it, then the only way to make that fair is to make it so a loss in a conf championship games doesn't count against a team's ability to make the playoffs.

So 2 good teams in the same conference can fight it out. Any of these guys at the top could play eachother every weekend with different outcomes. I am looking forward to the 12 team payoff system. Teams stacking up the talent like this year isn't the norm. Usually a team or 2 dominate the season. This year is an off season where its anyone's game. Yesterday proved that. I would love to see more of those kinds of games.

I'm not saying OSU should be in the play offs. Watching the Bama team this year (to include a Hail Mary to squeeze out a win yesterday) just tells me they should NOT be in.

Michigan was tested the last three weeks. Were they tests comparable to playing in the NC game? I don't know.

Yesterday made me think we should put the undefeated teams in and throw the one loss team names in a hat. Draw the winner out. I have seen a lot of underwhelming wins by a lot of teams this year. Squeakers. Teams that should.have attended church the next morning because they had some divine intervention to get them their win. 🤣 (Not a Bama bash. Half a dozen teams for that description.)

Sure they can, conference fight it out happens every year in the SEC. Sorry that OSU finally has some division competition the past three years after a decade of cake walk BIG 10 title shots.

Why not go to 24 teams and let's just say screw the whole regular season, conferences, and divisions. Let's make it so that a team that isn't even the best in their division much less their conference gets a shot too. Let's just keep watering it down until everyone with a favorite team gets a shot at a title.

I don't think they should be in either unless by some.miricle they beat GA. But we all know Georgia is going to have that ass next week. 😅.

But the fact remains that Bama did win, and will play in their conf championship game, they're still alive. OSU didn't win their division and doesn't even have a shot at their conf title. That should be it for their season at that point. Regular season play, division and conf titles have to count for something.

You sound like a man that is scared. Like someone that has screamed about the SEC program having all the talent. How it's roster was so much tougher than the rest. With your thinking, why not just do away with playing anyone outside of your division?

I'm not arguing for the Buckeyes to get in. I will say our conference championship game has been a joke. It is flawed. It is not common to see the two best teams fighting it out for the title. OSU plays Michigan for a championship game and flip a coin as to who wins. Nobody is saying Iowa sucks but I don't think anyone is saying they are the second best team in the B1G.

Hypothetical situation: we have a rematch of yesterday's game for our championship. It is another battle. OSU wins by 6. Do they both make it in the play offs?

Honestly, the Buckeye fans should hope to see UM run the table in a decided fashion. It won't get the Buckeyes in, but it would be a gauge as to where we stand.

The Big 10/16 or whatever you want to call it has one division with 3 teams better than the the top( sorry Iowa) team in the other division. Sad that they have it set up that way but it is what it is.
Joe, if Bama beats GA you going to say both should be in playoffs? Lol

Better argument than what the Buckeyes have. If we played UM again in our conference championship game and won. . . There could be an argument for both teams getting in.

Huh?. I'm not sure where you're going with that. If it's about inner conf competition, how many different Big 10 teams have won a national championship in the last 20 years? Now run those numbers for the SEC. That should give you an idea of how the power dynamic fluctuates in the SEC and how from season to season it's an uphill climb. Up until three years ago the only confrence team that OSU really had to not lose to, was itself.
