Nobody is sitting around on their couch mourning what happened there back when. 🤣👍🤦‍♂️

Best part is your tax dollars will go to tearing down all old signs and replacing with new ones, destroying all old literature and replacing with new ones, replacing all uniforms, vehicle signage etc. Maybe i should look into one of these lucrative cotracts. All this stuff a waste and great for the environment huh? There are idiots among us and they vote. Some of them vote twice.

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

This is a big deal for us in Washington County having 40K acres of WNF in our tax base. Our county commissioners are all over this and are fighting back the best we can. There's lots of advocacy efforts underway to have the Feds turn WNF over to the state. WNF pays a penance of a PILT, or payment in lieu of taxes, to the poorest school district in the county, and one of the worst in the state. The Feds could care less and our hope is if returned to the state, we could then pursue a lodge to help that area of the county with jobs and taxes. The Athens Unit has better marketing, but we have the river and that's irreplaceable. This whole name change BS has amplified these other efforts.

I was always surprised that the Marietta unit didn't have more recreational use. Actually it has 2 rivers. The Ohio and the Little Muskingum.

The way any of these ridiculous matters should be decided is simple. We must ask a two-part question, "What problem does this address, and does the proposed change solve the root cause of the problem?"

If the answer to the second part of the question is , "Yes," then make the change. If the answer to the second part of the question is, "No," then do not make the change.

Stop participation trophies.

Stop baseless changes to appease a complainer.

Stop tearing down statues, changing names, etc.

Stop virtue signaling. That is all any of this really is.

Unless the solution solves an actual problem, it's ok to simply say "No."

When you throwing your hat into the political ring, Sean? I’ll vote for ya! Twice! But alas, neither would count 😂

Changing the name of the area will make all of the wrong doings in history....all better.
How about all of Anthony Wayne's relatives paying restitution to the Native Americans' families? What a crock of s***!!!

These "think tank" idiots need to get a job and work for a living, instead of dreaming up this crap and playing video games in their parents' basement. 🖕 I have no sympathy for any of these people and their "issues". I look forward to seeing the horrors of life staring them in the face, when the next civil war breaks out in this country and they have no clue how to fend for themselves. :sneaky:
