Should be prepping your ice gear! Deer are stupitI’m out. Should’ve worn one more layer on top but whatever, it’s fuggin cold no matter how ya cut it. Wind was too southerly for the property I wanted to hunt that’s had reasonable action. At another property that’s been pretty dry, figured I could at least be out of the wind in my ground blind, wrong. Destroyed by wind and ice. So now I’m 22’ up in the wind AND won’t see anything Good luck if anyone else is as dumb as I am and is out and about.
At least you’re moving so you won’t freeze to death, lol. Standing still past 30 minutes after the walking in warmth is gone would suck doneyballs in these temps. I bet stands are popping and feet are sticking to platforms too in this crap! No thanks! A blind with a heater over a pile holding a thermos of hot coffee is best option this week IMONothing but cold feet and hands for me. Stepped on two woodcock on the way out….go figure. I have 2 rifle days left then I’m hanging it up for the year
Winters of 13' and 14' were brutal. I only remember because everyone was complaining and we were fresh from Alaska wondering what the problem was. Lol.We had a cold snap about 10 years ago during muzzleloader season IIRC. Minus double digits wind chills. I hunted the farm I hunt now, drove in, left the truck running and still hunted half the farm. Took about 30-40 minutes. Got back to the truck, freezing my ass off. Got warmed up, drank some coffee, and finished the rest of the farm with a still hunt. There was no way I could of been on a stand not moving in those temps for very long.

Shoulda let it eatView attachment 190675Bought another tag, had him and the other shooter at 55 yards but couldn’t get it done, too many bitches around.
In late season? You are high. That deer wouldn't be in that same spot by the time the arrow arrived. Just asking for a bad shot or bump the deer off.Shoulda let it eat
