Why so many steps….couldnt you park any closer to it?😂😂
Shed hunting has gotten much more difficult over the years. On top of losing an assload of property to walk the farms I walk are just too dang good at farming and surrounding properties are drawing the deer. The farmers have taken out so much habitat(fencerows/treelines/even ponds😳 to increase AG field area. There is absolutely no leftover corn or beans meanwhile properties next door are maintained to draw and hold deer with food, minerals and salt by hunters. It is what it is. Can’t blame the farmers or hunters for doing what they are doing. Success is what we all strive for, if not, why do it.👍🏻🤷🏻‍♂️
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, provide food and security on quality property all year long and you’ll find sheds and kill good deer every year. Thats how it’s done these days. If you want to hunt deer by reading sign and hanging 20+feet DW over a pinch, buy points and go hunt Iowa. Ohio deer hunting has changed forever. 👍🏻

Couldn't agree more. Shed hunting has gone the way of deer hunting. I don't receive the enjoyment I once did from either, but still try to appreciate the good parts.

Lack of snow cover in the winter also makes it tough in my opinion because the deer have access to food almost anywhere they choose to walk. Thus dropping sheds in random places. On years where we had good snowfall and cold winter those deer would herd up in much larger groups. Sheds would be more concentrated in certain areas.

These drone are proving that there isn't as many deer on the landscape that people think. Add the popularity of "buck hunters" and the problem is pretty obvious. You can't pick up what isn't there.
