since I’m a fan of Bear Archery. I think I’m the only on on here that’s ever talked about it or shoot at the too event. I’ve owned two compounds of Bear Archery Truth 2 and Carnage. So, I had decided to give it up and switch to crossbow. I’ve talked about it before but never got serious about it. So, this morning Ive just started doing research on Bear Archery crossbow. That is my next goal.
I think with your amount of free time this is a good choice! I've got a 10 point I'd let go for cheap if you just want to dip your toes first. Great introduction type. See if you like it before spending any real money.

Which one? They make a bunch of them now. When I started this thread I was thinking they only had the 340. I was way wrong! Lol

When I think of crossbow I think of long term purchase, like what Jenna did a few years back. That long term purchase you want reliability and most importantly a company that has been going long term AND can get you service/parts quickly. The archery shops we talked to up here all kept saying Ravin was a great x-bow Buuut if you need service/parts you could wait up to a year because of where they are manufactured. Seemed like Excalibur and Ten Point were the only one's they would recommend for long term service. The fact that Ten Point is based out of Ohio and our prior experience with an older Ten Point x-bow that has been relatively flawless and that is where she put her money. So far in those several years of owning (think going on 4 if I remember correctly) it she has only had a problem with the scope coming loose, some blue loctite solved that tho.
I went with excalibur for their reputation, less moving parts and their micro platform. Not having to take it in for string changes is a bonus.

Called a friend that likes to upgrade often. Always has the best of the best and latest and greatest. Bought his last years model crossbow. I honestly might end up with his 22' model bow too, lol.

Thanks man. I was really looking forward to building that truck you had and have been bummed ever since.
I have a Ten Point Vengent. Its a great bow. The only downside is that it chews up cables. Ive had the bow 3 years and Ive had to replace them once just before last season.

Don't be bummed , that tenpoint takes up a lot less space and the wife won't yell that it's sitting in the driveway
Dealt with a cable eater a couple times...
One was a "nick" on the pulley.
One was operator error. (Never lubed or waxed anything).
Do hope you got it figured out. String slap can suck!
Would you be so kind as to do a post on proper (I your opinion) xbow upkeep?
