Roll call - truck owners & under warranty $

Calling all truck owners that purchased a new or used truck, model year 2000+ or newer that was still under warranty.

Simple data collection for how many you bought, and the count for still under OEM warranty or extended (3rd party), and were required to pay $ out of pocket for a fix to make drivable again.

2004 Chevy Dmax LLY
FICM harness was made too short and chaffed at the #2 injector. TSB extended coverage to 50k miles. Mine had issue at 60k miles. GM customer service took care of parts and half labor. I paid other half.

2014 GMC Terrain
Timing belt tensioner and AC compressor issues
Both happened under extended warranty period. No deductible no money out of pocket.

2020 GMC Sierra baby D-max
Tailgate radio went out three times. All covered under factory warranty and GM extended my electronics coverage for an additional 2 years or 24k miles since it went out so many times. Actually felt bad about this one. Found out it was being fried by my buddies dump trailer. Somebody wired it backwards so my power wire was shorting everything out. Once he fixed his trailer I never had another issue.

2000 Chevy Silverado bought with 5,800 miles on it, never had an issue for the 200,000 miles.

2004 Yukon XL bought with 12,000 miles had a few small warranty issues along the way, mainly electrical bugs. Has 330,000 miles on the original engine.

2-0 for me, but I just couldn't do the deal on a new GM with all the transmission and active fuel management issues.

2014 Tundra- bought new, no issues other than normal wear and tear Items. Traded it with 130k on it.

2021 Tundra- bought new, currently sitting @67k miles. No issues other than a couple recalls. Takata airbags and one for daytime running lights, bulb sockets for overheating and discolored.

These are the only new and under warranty trucks I’ve ever owned.

Not sure I follow I had some issues repaired under warranty on the Yukon, never had any issues with the Silverado under warranty.

Tundra they are replacing the brakes under warranty because the squeal in reverse, and we all know about the engine recall that my truck is a part of.

2022 F350 had one warranty deal. Purge valve. Something to do with gas tank venting I think. That is why I had to wait an extra week or two to go get it. Was at the dealer and I didn't officially own it yet.

I do have the tell tale hard shift I to 3rd at times. Occasionally a lunge into drive where you better have your foot in the brakes. We shall see if they do anything about it. Need to at least go to the dealer and let them put it on paper that it has some warning signs. Nothing that has me nervous to drive it. Just keeping an eye on it.
