Tracked one yesterday for a 10 yr old. His first deer. Hit high behind the shoulder. It was a typical muscle track. Blood for 40 yds, puddle (4" spot of blood), trail, puddle. This happens 3 or 4 times then Maxx looses interest. Once the deer leaves panic mode and thinks its alright, the smell changes and your tracking falls off. I hate it but you're just done.
STAY AWAY FROM THE SHOULDER!
PASS ON QUARTER-TO SHOTS...
NEVER FRONTAL SHOTS...
☆☆☆Nearest leg forward, head down, 5" back from outline of leg and 1/2 way up the deer.
DID I SAY STAY AWAY FROM THE SHOULDER?~~ITS A SHIELD/DEFLECTOR/ENEMY.

Today should be interesting. 150"? track in Nashport.... Hunter is all shook up! He said "May be my biggest deer ever!" He from Dayton and stayed in Columbus for early tracking...

Then a 130"? 8 pt in Bladensburgh. IF he can get his brother to meet me. Hunter has to work today and tomorrow out of town. This should be interesting as well....
DID I MENTION STAY AWAY FROM THE SHOULDER?

Todays track was for a preacher. Arrow w/aluminock stuck in ground for last blood. Arrow is gone when we got there. I spot a hotel/motel deer blind on stilts 80 yds away. Its open between the arrow and the blind. (Neighbor stole it)
Tracked it 1/2 mile and found blood. But the deer had already went up two steep hills and through 3 thickets without bedding.... Hunter stopped me and called the deer alive.

Dry spell lifted today.

Blood at hit sight looked like liver. Arrow only had good blood on front 6". Confusing track for sure. I told the hunter to back out things were not making sense. Maxx smelled the arrow and got busy! 14 Hours after the shot, we see it was hit in the liver and the deer was still breathing. Died before he could even put an arrow in it. Gooboy Maxx!

GREAT TRACK TODAY FOR A GREAT GUY'S GIRLFRIEND!
Alex Anderson (TOO guy also) contacted me about a shot/track that was baffling. Shot was on the money. (lil low if anything) Arrow looked good and blood a lil dark. Blood trail... not so much! Maxx took the known track of over 200 yds and then another 155 yds with no blood. This is her first deer ever and what a deer!
Alex knowing to do the right things sure made this easy. Priceless to watch people start getting nervous... its like "This lil fella know what he's doing? How do you know if he's still on it?" Then BAMM Maxx Rips His Tail Clean Off! 🤣

GOOBOY MAXX!

Just found out I'm famous too...
This is why I ask: Everything to do with this deer was legal? We're okay with property owners where we are going?

He contacted me and I said yes that's me with maxx. He commended me for not messing with his camera or deer stand. And once he knew it was somewhat legit... he took our number so he would have a tracking dog on hand...🤣🤣🤣

Two seconds later, Brian gets ahold of me for a heads-up about it...
One of his friends seen it (we tracked deer with) and vouched for me without even knowing. Thats impressive these days!

Since then everyone has talked and everyone is okay with everything. Now we even have permission to be on his property after a proper phone call.
