Been meaning to share this here, but it's been a busy few days returning to adulting. We had a heck of a good time last week… The trucks logged almost 4,000 miles, our boots trekked over 50 miles, and the dogs probably doubled or tripled what our legs did.

Blitz lost 8 lbs running the open prairie and I’m down 5. Collectively, our group brought home over 30 wild roosters, some sharptail grouse and few Hungarian partridge.

There’s too many highlights to categorize, but taking a public land rooster with a 100-year-old Ithaca SxS that was my great-grandfather’s, then uncle Chuck’s, and now in my possession certainly ranks high on the list.

I’m fulfilled, yet still ready to go tomorrow.

Great pictures! Sounds like you had a great mixed bag opportunity!

Do you utilize any hydration aids / supplements to aid in dog recovery day to day?

Hunting wild birds on the Great Plains of the west is about as good as it gets. Good to see you had a memorable trip! Thanks for sharing man. Phenomenal pics as always!

We had some hydration powder that we sprinkled on their food each night. I’ll ask my buddy what brand it was because I can’t remember.

The first few days it was hot so watered the dogs constantly. After that our temps cooled with lows in the 20’s and highs in the 40-50 range. I still have water to Blitz constantly because (1) he tends to run hot and (2) it helps him pause and refocus.
