It's cold, it's blowing, but it's time to play. Small 6 row header, gonna be a bit lol.

My boy and I harvested a doe yesterday (he need dad for the assist). Monday I seen a total of 12 and passed on all them as I don't like taking long shots in CRP and none of the bucks were what I was looking for (had a 3.5 year old under me for several Minutes). Taking today off and plan on hunting with my other son tomorrow. Should be in the woods everyday from Thursday on.

No one wanted to play but the farmer. Chatted with him a bit as he brought out a buck in the header and dumped him off to the side and he obliged to start at the far end and work his way towards me. Woulda lost $ betting there was atleast 1 deer in there. Grabbed lunch and just finished with the blind I planned to put up once he got done. Now we can reach out and touch something.

Let the 350 eat tonight. Good sized doe, 100 yards, double lung and bottom third of the heart was removed. Dropped in its tracks. I had my suppressor on and not only did my ears not ring but the other doe (smaller) which was feeding within 10 feet of it never reacted.

Found this feller behind the house today. Frontal shot that entered his left shoulder and it looks like the bullet fragmented, hitting the left lung judging by the clotted blood on the inside of the rib cage. No neighbors have claimed it yet, so who knows where or when he was shot, and who didn't recover it. I'd say it didn't leave much of a blood trail and it may have been a slow death, but the coyotes wasted little time cleaning him up.

Beautiful 9 point, based upon the lackof mass, 2.5ish? would have potential in a few years

Yeah, 2.5. No brows, which is kinda common back there. Seen it a bunch over the years. Killed a 3 year version of him in 2010. Same frame, no brows, just 20" bigger.

My buddy Ben @Buckmaster is a great host and always helps set everyone up at deer camp for success. Followed his suggestion and hunted soecific spot, while parking quad at a different spot to influence movement. He told me when deer had been seen there recently (3pm and 5pm) and sure enough, at 315 here comes a deer...and I said to myself "too small, you get a pass...then right behind her comes a bigger doe and I says to myself yeah, here we go...but she was skittish and looking straight up at me, and before she presented a shot she sounded off. I then decides she had signed the smaller ones death warrant. But the little one was now on watch and followed the other. Gone.
515 the little one comes back and I score my first pistol kill

Way to keep the streak going Danno, hell of a year for you!!
Yep, it's been a great year, like it's been scripted or something. I'm grateful to God and all my huntin' buddies. I'm done till muzzy. Freezer is overflowing, and Danta Claus will be bringing venison to some friends and family.

Cold and windy here in Jefferson County, an inch of snow. Feeder repair and blind retrieval this morning.
