    Mason, Brock, others

He sent that to me in a group text along with our beagle running buddy, Timmy. Timmy replied with this pic. I assume he was more hungry today than Mason. 😀

Mason had the morning off so he turned the pups lose at his house. He said it took 2 minutes for them to find one and that was all he wanted for today’s lunch.

Krista made a fine lunch for the gang after a long day in the field with chilly winds a blowing’. It was only minutes after the meal when the warmth of the man cave put Tim down for a while. He drew attention when he started to snore. 😀

Only 8 were saved for the table. I mistakenly tried to head shoot one at very close range while it was traveling straight at me at very high speed. So, our little group will only be eating 8 for lunch during next Monday’s adventure.

The weather has finally given us a good opportunity to enjoy this time of year, which happens to be a favorite of mine. It’s become a favorite over the last four years or so because we try to spend Mondays chasing rabbits until seasons end. We then spend Mondays shooting pheasants at a local...

Lane Holcomb makes good strings. I’ve bought a pile from him in the last few years and have been happy with all. Just sayin, if ya get tired of twisting, I think he does a fine job.

    Super Sale Deals

No. I have a Heater Body Suit. I’ve had it for probably 20 years and I paid 350ish for it back then.

    Deer Kill Total

I would not give up my 450 for any other caliber rifle to hunt Ohio with. I’d bet I had the first 450 Ruger American of any on this forum. That gun has killed a pile of deer. I think it was at like 8 bodies before I ever got to hunt with it. It is utilitarian, accurate, and as easy to...

    Deer Kill Total

They became readily available and user friendly overnight. No longer a need to load a 357max for the masses. I personally think the development of the 450 was a game changer and others have followed. Lower recoil, excellent accuracy and devastating on whitetails all add up to a massive...

    Deer Kill Total

Yep. Particularly if you all do as we did and stop shooting antlerless deer. I don’t believe for a minute you need to curtail doe harvest for as long as we did, simply because there are still more deer in your area than in ours. We had so few fawns making it to adulthood due to predation it...

The Adventures of Bo and Cole

I tried to call ya, not sure if it’s the correct number or not. Doc was in for lunch so you were set up for a free consultation. 😀. He said if it is just a lipoma it is not likely attached to the tendon and would be a snap to pop out with no issues. Of course you don’t know for sure until...

    2026 Sheds

I’ve probably said that. I usually find about a half dozen a year, but certainly not the numbers some of you guys find and it feels like I put in way too much effort to find those.

I’ll add this; I’ve got a Widow with a similar shaped grip with one major difference. There is a flat spot whittled into the handle the provides a rock solid pressure point for the base of my thumb. It is a pleasure to shoot that bow.

You know what you like, but that would not be for me I don’t think. Like Howatt hamdles, for example, the high palm swell causes me to be more straight-wristed than I should be to maintain consistent pressure at the base of the thumb. But in your case, I don’t see how it would hurt to try it...

    Deer Kill Total

Fayette had the second highest kill they have ever recorded. I recall in 1994-1995 we killed right at 600. It was around 300 since, until last year when there was 400ish. We have seen a rebound for real, it’s noticeable in the field as well… it only took 30 years to get the numbers back. 😀
