Agree, one impacted cow will shake things up more than thousands of whitetail...... Indiana is starting to see a huge hit in south central region.

I would think lowing doe limit to 1 in select counties would be a step in the right direction. (and wouldn't think it is too late to do so)

I agree, I honestly feel safest in my saddle. I keep a extra movable aider in my pouch for a backup and also would have my linemans readily available should I have to use it as a extra tether or slowly work down tree utilizing both ropes one at a time.

For whitetail I am a fan of larger diameter mechanical(s), currently a big fan of SEVR.

This is a great reminder. I am always trying to be safer as I grow older. One thing I do not see discussed as much as prevention is recovery once the fall happens. Obviously without harness/tether/linemans/safety ropes there is no recovery but if you do fall and your restraints are in place and...

At the time, we had never seen another one like it. Once these were posted by photographer on social media we did see a local fab. company replicate. Share the photos if you get them done, trades are worthy of celebrating no different than athletic accolades which are often focused on.

I had mentioned it before, but, Indiana did a mid season reprint and revision of antlerless quotas a couple years back when we were hit hard and kept them reduced for two years following. It seems like common sense to me that Ohio would do the same.

It always seems to be more severe in pockets. I presume weather patterns/herd dynamics come in to play along with areas the midges were also concentrated for whatever reason. Just guesses though.

I know this gathering isn't really about hunting, however, is EHD impacting this area badly?

Few years ago when there was EHD outbreak in my area of Indiana I will say our DNR reacted & reduced bonus antlerless quotas within the affected counties. We have a up to date map on their website as well, they do not wait until Sept to populate and share the information.

I haven't been able to locate a map for EHD/Ohio, what all regions/counties are currently impacted?
