Pretty difficult to track down deer that are still alive. Dude called me yesterday that had shot a buck that was facing him. “It was only 15 yards”…. Yeah, and now you’re trying to find a drone or dog. It blows my mind how many people make really bad choices when it’s time to kill a deer.

No. It was about half way up and halfway back the ribs. The deer was quartered too. May not have been the best angle to choose but they made all the right decisions afterwards.

Thanks fellas! This girl was super excited. She said, “Can I give you a hug?” Lol. It didn’t take long to find it. They were within a short distance of him this morning but finding an abandoned bed and losing sign was all they needed to make the call. This was in Dublin/Powell area...

I’d call that a recovery too! Great job on a heck of a buck!

The boy tried to put a sneak on him at 2 for a finishing shot. Tan him clear out of the country. I don’t know if he will live or not but I am 100% sure he won’t recover him now.

I wish it were mandatory simply because archery hunting is such a big thing now and apparently an awful lot of the people doing it have no mentors to instruct them correctly. I was taught early in life that just because you can see a deer it doesn’t mean you have a proper shot. I don’t think...

The buck had moved 30 yards since last night. Head still up. Going back after 1 to check on him again. Sad.

I went over to Preble County yesterday to search for a buck a fella shot Saturday. We covered the area really well. Found a lot of critters but not the deer he had shot. We did find a couple of nice bucks that got us excited until we looked em over closer. Was fortunate enough to hang with...

There are four cats within a couple hundred yards of the covey today. And two whitetail bucks… but honestly who cares about deer. 😁

I gotta give some credit where it’s due: the new crp mix is amazing stuff. Far superior to the old switch grass plantings. The problem is not with govt spending but with land stewardship. It’s now common thinking to believe the very little land that is not planted must be mowed or cleared...

And they still would be if it weren't for bushhogs and bulldozers. I have no idea why people want farmland to look like a golf course. Sickening.

Cole, I thought you would like this. I was super excited to find them. Interestingly there was a feral cat about 100 yards from the covey.

I enjoyed meeting him as well as his wife. It was refreshing to meet a hunter that really wanted to find “just a doe”.

Here are two of four bucks that are currently bedded around one very nervous doe. It’s heating up for some.

Seth and I rode a half hour down the highway tonight to help this fella out. He is colorblind. His wife does the tracking and it started pouring rain while they were looking for blood. He made a decent shot but the deer was quartered towards at the shot. It took a minute or so to find...
