    RIP Mojo Nixon

Mojos comments at the concert the night before he died. "You should not be afraid of AI (artificial intelligence). You should be afraid of greedy corporate F$%*S that want to suck your soul out."

    RIP Mojo Nixon

"Unsurprisingly, for an artist always willing to push a bit as far as possible, Nixon was a deeply committed advocate for free speech and opponent of censorship. He famously debated parental advisory warnings on CDs with Pat Buchanan during an appearance on CNN’s Crossfire in the 1990s. In an...

    Final deer season harvest numbers

A quick Google search brought up a CD article from last year states 406k total deer permits were sold as of January of 2023, up significantly from the most previous years numbers. Still not sure what this past seasons number is, but I bet it has continued to trend up. So like I mentioned, the...

    Final deer season harvest numbers

What do you think is going on there? I'd like to see the last 3 years data added to that and see the most recent trend. Also, I guess we have no option then to take this data as gospel truth which is hard to do at times as well.

    Final deer season harvest numbers

Bingo. Its the localvore and live off the land mentality that seemed to be triggered by so many post covid. During that same time there was a huge push for folks to flee to the country to buy their own peice of the pie. Still happening right now.

    Final deer season harvest numbers

That data gos to 2020. Stuff changed after the pandemic. I could look up the 2021-2023 licenses sold just don't care enough to do so I guess.

    Final deer season harvest numbers

How does the kill correlate with the amount of tags sold? I don't buy for a second that there are less deer hunters. They are on every 3 acre backyard with a ground blind and a corn pile now. This wasnt nearly as common even 10 years ago. It's inevitable for the kill to increase to a certain...

    2024 shed season

Absolutely. The Bush Honeysuckle is leaved out typically well before the majority of our bucks drop. My experience has been they really starrt dropping around here the 2nd and 3rd week of March, which is easily a month later then other parts of the state, especially the big wooded areas in...

    2024 shed season

My drone flights in Central Ohio last week yielded around 75% of bucks with both antlers. Today in southern Ohio that number was over 90%. It's very situational from region to region. One thing you can put money on is that southwest Ohio seems to consistently be the latest dropping bucks in the...

Congrats. I enjoy reading about your hunts, and especially admire doing it all with a stick.

    Coyotes and Southern Ohio Deer

I agree with above sentiment. Coyotes are 100% a problem for deer. So are the guys wracking and stacking does in low deer population areas. Our family property has low deer numbers and coyotes contribute to that, but more so are the neighbors who hunt till season end to fill every tag that they...
