I know Marty and David both actually! And my grandmother was also a Slone! You sure we aren't related somewhere down the line? Lol such a small world we live in. I'm sure I know most of your relatives, we probably share a lot. The Slone family is a huge family

    Baiting

The population at LBL is steady. They keep them all fenced in so its not free range As far as I know?? And yea we have em all over the east now. They can absolutely destroy a corn pile in minutes.. Had 20-30 at my feeder at a time before, and they will destroy it... But having them here makes...

Eastern KY is awesome when the acorns crop is down. Pour out a bag of corn and watch them come from all over. Not exactly the same if we have a bumper crop of acorns. This year we have a bumper crop, and 50 lbs of corn is lasting me 2 weeks on the ground. The only bad thing about baiting in east...

    Miamisburg area

Sounds like it's a no brainer on this one then. We are planning on that first weekend in November and hunting 4 days. As a teacher I get off that Election Day and won't have to use a sick day lol. Hopefully we get to make a drive up and check the area out sometime before then just to get an idea...

    Miamisburg area

I feel the same way. Kind of hard to guarantee a place hasn't been hunted unless you stay on it 24/7. Sounds like there are deer in and around that area, so we will probably give it a try this year. Might end up getting lucky on one. I can always hunt the Shawnee later in the year, as I have...

    Miamisburg area

Buddy says it's somewhere between 40-60 Acres. Mostly timber with some crp like area in the center?? I've never seen it before and he hasn't been there in like 10 years lol. I was planning on doing some hunting in the Shawnee, until he said he had some private ground. From reading on here public...

    Baiting

Absolutely! I've had several matures hit the spin feeder hard horned. Like I said though, it took me 5 years before they started. That's yearlings growing up to 4.5-5.5 living with it and learning it to mean food.

    Baiting

From my experience it takes 4-5 years for mature deer to start using a spin feeder. I run 2 on my Ky property and they have been up for 5 years. Last year was the first time I had mature deer visit it in the daylight. The does and yearlings started using it the after a couple months. My theory...

    Miamisburg area

A buddy and I have the opportunity to come up this fall and hunt a small farm in Miamisburg. I've never been there and I'm just looking for an idea as to what I can expect? Is it a good area? Am I going to see a lot of deer, or very few? I'll be up there the first weekend of November if the plan...

Hello all! I'm new to the forum, and while I'm not an Ohio native I love hunting new locations. I'm planning a trip to Ohio this fall and can't wait to experience it! I joined this forum in hopes of learning some new things about hunting in Ohio. I've spent my whole life hunting the mountains of...
