Probably best to do the wait and see on this scenario. From what I’ve seen on it, the motors are expected to all be swapped out by 3Q 2025.

What's wild is Hyundai had this exact same recall for "debris left in the engine" which caused wear on the connecting rod bearings. Hyundai said it was casting material, Toyota blamed machining material left in the engine. Neither makes sense as the oil filter would filter both out pretty quickly and damn sure wouldn't still be in there tens of thousands of miles later. When Hyundai replaced the engine on my wife's old Sonata free of charge I talked to the mechanic. He said it was just shit quality connecting rod bearings.

Better than GMs recent recall of over 400k trucks for transmission issues causing the rear wheels to lock up. The problem is premature transmission valve body wear. The fix, was a software update to monitor valve body wear and put the truck in limp mode where it can't shift above 5th gear approximately 10,000 before a lockup would occur. GM was made aware of the problem in 2001 by an Engineer, conducted an internal investigation, GM concluded the problem wasn't severe enough to cause a safety issue so they decided against a recall, AND KEPT MAKING THEM with the same known problem. In 2022 they installed the software on new trucks going forward. It wasn't until the NHTSB came to them with cases of accidents cause by transmission lockup that GM issued a "voluntary" recall. But GM is perfectly intent with knowing they were actively producing transmission that were going to fail.

I am up to 25,000 miles on mine no issues. Fingers crossed, the local dealer had not seen an engine failure yet. I will get inline to get mine replaced when they start.

The Hyundai recall was to install a shorter dipstick, in other words just dump an extra quart of oil in to cover it up, but they extended the warranty from 100k to 120k. Most engines were locking up anywhere from 70-110k miles. Her sonata threw a rod at 121k miles. I called Hyundai even though it was over the warranty period and they said take it in. The mechanic dropped the oil pan, sent pictures to Hyundai and they covered it. Granted they were fresh off a class action lawsuit over it though. I say that to say most certainly get it replaced when you can because it may last another 100k miles and you're still not out of the woods.
