After you have your scope mounted and bore sighted - time to shoot. With a clean target have your rifle in a good rest and fire one shot at the bulls eye. Use the same sight picture and without MOVING the rifle look thru the scope and turn the elevation and windage knobs untill the cross hairs are on the bullet hole of your first shot. Helps to have a third hand. Fire your 2nd shot at the bulls eye - you should be in it - fine tune next.

I have seen guys at the rang blow a dozen rounds try ta dial in a scope
