Good job Xbowguy....I guess. Personally I'd have been prouder if you had shot the ditch tiger instead.... :smiley_arrogant:

Congrats xbowguy on the doe. I am alittle confused on the Contest. You took the granddaughter out and she got a doe. So that's 10 points for the Youth harvest I guess added to Team 13. Is that 10 points extra for us? Then can you summit a doe yourself for your 5 points?
Just confused as I thought we were allowed only 2 deer per person or is the Youth deer extra? I need to know as I might have a Youth deer points to with the grandsons.

I would say post the pic's and they will give points allowed. If nothing else, it should make it into the hunting video at the end.

Frank, it is my understanding that the youth bonus points are for taking a young'un, regardless of whether or not they harvest one, and if they do, you do not get extra points for their harvest, just the 5 for taking them.

At least that's how I understand it.

Youth he's only 14 but big enough to be 18. I'm just glad I don't feed him all the time. LOL

What a day makes in deer hunting. Yesterday I took his 16 yr old brother out and didn't see a deer. Today we had 8 does and fawns within shooting distance before 9:00.
He made a perfect shot at 33 yds with my Rem 1100 12 ga. out of my hunting tower in my woods. He rested the forearm on the windowsill and I believe the shotgun bounced away from the hard surface and went slightly high and did a spine shot. It dropped in it's tracks and no blood trailing. I only wish I had a video setup as at the moment of bullet impact there was 2 streams of steam out both sides of the deer and it just dropped. Of course he missed that because of the recoil.
He didn't want mess with a doe and only wanted to buck hunt. But I asked him to shot a doe to give to the next door neighbor. OK he would do that and got his hands dirty cleaning the deer as I cleaned his 1st deer when he was 10.
A great weekend to be a grandpa. My son is always setup at a gunshow this weekend I have taken the 2 boys the last 4 years hunting and they each have gotten 2 each.
The 16 yr old hunts with my S&W 629 Classic Deluxe and took an nice 7 pt 2 years ago with the pistol. He passed on a nice buck and doe last year as he felt they were too small and didn't want to mess with them. He feels he always wants a bigger buck than the year before. I explained it just doen't work out that way.
