Team #18 FDL, deerjunkie, 8pt ,10-21-12, 1830.

Put this funky looking 8pt on the ground last night. Decided to get aggressive and push in further to their bedding. So we put on our leafy suits and kneeled along a cut bean field where I anticipated them to enter. He was on a doe that walked by and he had a deep grunt to him :) Have a little history with this deer, which adds to the story of taking him. Biggest bodied buck I have shot yet. Face to face at 23yds...so much fun. In the rush last night I forgot to take pics of the tag, will do that tonight when I get it from the butcher.

Nice work Dale. What's the orange flagging for in the skyline?

Oh that...well, you can't walk more than 100yds in any direction in this part of the state with out seeing orange, white or white and blue striped flags from the oil and gas boom going on here. Oh, and the orange stakes in the ground every where. I have had to hunt around this industry some this year in the sense of them being all over the properties I have permission for. So for me...this little orange flag kinda adds to the story behind this buck.

Thanks for the explanation. Yes, we have it TOO everywhere we look. Hopefully Jesse will pickup his litter soon.
