2014-2015 Official Snow Thread

How do they do on gravel? Ain't got not fancy, high falutin concrete or asphalt driveway. This here is the cuntree and we have gravel, and dirt. Maybe some grass...

As long as you don't push down while pushing forward you should be ok, not saying you won't bump some every once in a while but you can either push down and scrape the pavement or keep it tilted a little too keep from throwing gravel....

For gravel? I am guessing the deep/wet snows are the worst? Two stage snow blower. Like Giles said, either weld some skids on the bottom or some have adjustable runners to keep it an inch or so off the gravel. Light/fluffy snow shouldn't be too bad up to the 3-4+ inch mark where the 2 stage comes in handy. Single stage snow blowers rock on lighter stuff but suck on the wet/heavy snows generally. On gravel they can be finicky. Better keep them off the gravel or you will have a rock flying at light speed before you know you touched the stones with the paddles.

We have a 2 stage that we use on my in-laws gravel driveway and it's like Phil said, adjust the skid bars up high enough and you only throw a stone once in a while.
